So have the loco hauled Cleethorpes-Manchester services begun?

Does anyone have knowledge of which  trains?

And why they have, once again, reduced the capacity, ( from six coaches to five)?

Still only training runs at the moment, usually in timings freed up by missing passenger services.

Don't know what the difference in seating capacity is between 2x185s and 1x68+Mk5s*, but looking at Realtimetrains over the last week, maybe a up to a third of Cleethorpes runs seem to be only 3 cars after a period of seemingly most being 6.

*Edit:

Wikipedia gives:
1x185 = 167 standard, 15 first

2x185 = 334 standard, 30 first

1xMk5 set = 261 standard, 30 first

(but 257 standard according to TP's own page at https://www.tpexpress.co.uk/travelling-with-us/the-nova-fleets/nova-3)

Fast forward to 02/06/22, I caught a train to Scarborough on order to catch the bus to Pickering as I was visiting the NYMR.

The first 68 I saw on arrival was none other than 68031 Felix.

I wonder if its stabled at Scarborough when it's not in use given the amount of times I've seen it there 🤔

There's been some 68 action of late through Derbyshire. 68016 was charged with the 6U77 Mountsorrel to Crewe bulk ballast yesterday - the first time a 'Cat' has been seen on this for a good few years I think.

DRS 68016 - 6U77, Stenson

The working was double-headed today but I couldn't make it.

Then today, the same 68 (016) was commandeered to go and rescue the 4E49 Daventry to Doncaster 'Tesco Express', after the usual 66 had developed square wheels and was failed at Daventry. Here it is at Stenson - again very very rare to see anything other than a shed on this:

Thanks,

Jack.

On 10th June 2022, 68004 'Rapid' stands at Keighley, on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway part of the station, during its weekend guest appearance at the K&WVR's 2022 diesel gala...

...and paired with the K&WVR's 37075, passing 50026 'Indomitable', approaching Keighley with a service from Oxenhope.

That’s some epic weed growth outside the shed.
