A couple from my recent observations in West Yorkshire.

 

On 27th July 2022, GBRf 66795 approaching Deighton with 6Z24, Liverpool Biomass Terminal to Drax Power Station, loaded biomass hoppers diverted via Huddersfield due to closure of the Calder Valley line.

On 9th August 2022, checked by a signal due to a preceding Northern Trains service, DB Cargo 66113 accelerates towards Brighouse with an empty binliner working from Wilton EFW Terminal to Knowsley Freight Terminal.

Todays class 66 sightings (09/08/22):

 

Trainload Petroleum at Colnbrook

 

66794 "Steve Hanam" at the terminal at Colnbrook with 6V04 from Grain as the driver and shunter exchange information

 

Farewell 455807 and 801

 

66726 "Sheffield Wednesday" leads former Southern class 455s, 455807 and 801 for scrap as 5Q55, Stewarts Lane-Newport through a hot South Marston

On 14th August, recently repainted and named by GB Railfreight 66720 'Wascosa' approaching Brighouse with JNA wagons working 6M70, Doncaster Down Decoy Yard to Tuebrook Sidings.

I had half an hour at Acton mainline this week, which is a good place to go to see freight trains in central(-ish) London if you're in the city, have a little time and want to see some freight activity.

On 17th August 2022 DB Cargo 66113 heads along the Down L&Y towards Heaton Lodge East Junction with 6E26, Knowsley Freight Terminal to Wilton EFW Terminal.

Popped up to the bank at Toton as I was passing on the M1 yesterday evening. The paint shop seems to have been busy judging by the number of unsooted exhausts visible, 4 or 5 more 66s in Traffic Red, 197 was one of them
