Photo-wise, not everyone's cup of tea, but a 66 reflected in the staff information panel at Westbury. Do many stations have these; a sort of up market "Open Train Times" track diagram?

Yes most stations round here do. Dead handy to see what passenger service your train is following

Not sure if it's important to you in terms of keeping records of what you photograph, but I don't think it would have been 66115 on the back.

A TOPS list from late on 17th January records '115 as being at Dollands Moor and by the afternoon of 18th January was at Wembley Reception.

It's more likely that it was 66165 which, together with 66034, according to TOPS was at Crewe on the 17th but both at Toton TMD by the afternoon of the 18th.

Of course, TOPS isn't always 100% accurate but that's a completely different story.

I hope this is helpful.

Thanks, yes it was 66165, a driver friend told me afterwards but I forgot to update the caption!

Take care.

A few GBRf 66s from 28th & 29th January 2023 during an engineers' possession of the Huddersfield line between Thornhill LNW Junction (at Ravensthorpe) and Whitehall Junction (at Leeds), to allow Network Rail to replace the 'Down Huddersfield' through Morley.

To support this work seven engineers' trains were run to and from Doncaster, either Belmont Down Yard or Up Decoy.

On the 28th 66720 'Wascosa' waits at Ravensthorpe to exit the possession with 6G82 Thornhill LNW Junction to Belmont Down Yard...777796973_667206G82Ravensthorpe280120231-RMweb.jpg.bfd20b33b228a4add97a54297ae0cd96.jpg

...before edging forward...1005481748_667206G82Ravensthorpe280120232-RMweb.jpg.55c1783a36c294573479df84d3520c4e.jpg

...to approach Thornhill LNW Junction.

A few hours later 66748 'West Burton 50' led 6G83, Thornhill LNW Junction to Doncaster Up Decoy, through Deighton heading west towards Huddersfield.

There was a 6G84 but its timing precluded a photograph.

On 29th January 66757 'West Somerset Railway' passed through Brighouse with 6G85, Thornhill LNW Junction to Belmont Down Yard.

A few hours later 66756 Royal Corps of Signals, laying down a smoky trail, passing Colne Bridge with 6G86, Thornhill LNW Junction to Doncaster Up Decoy.

A bit later at Deighton, 66720 'Wascosa' put in another appearance, this time with 66784 'Keighley & Worth Valley Railway 50th Anniversary 1968-2018', top 'n' tailing 6G87, Thornhill LNW Junction to Doncaster Up Decoy.

The final working was of loaded autoballasters as 6G88, Belmont Down Yard to Mirfield East Junction, with 66748 'West Burton 50' making a second appearance passing through Mirfield heading west to Marsden to reverse, before heading back east to enter the possession.

66046 departs from Burngullow Junction with a Parkandillick service. 60044 brought the wagons up from Lostwithiel, but I believe was not cleared for the branch so made its way back to St Blazey light engine.

A different angle on a 66.

"Team Red"

The headlights of 66047 and the red signals cast beams of light into the night. There can be lots of waiting on possessions, and 6W07 whcih has just arrived at SW1108 from Westbury is now in the T3 possession for relaying work around Denchworth, waiting further instructions. Fellow DB maritime blue machine 66005 was on the rear of the train, formed of 4 loaded Salmon of new sleepers and 12 loaded Falcon of new ballast.

Taken on a Samsung S10 with Night Mode switched on.
