Timing is everything, in this case sunlight on a stormy day in Arizona. The first 777 in Cathay Pacific colours, B-HNL after 50,000 flight hours.

The optional heater is funny! I can imagine the complaints from the Mrs when you didn't purchase that option... -
Piko announce SP Krauss-Maffei ML 4000 in HO
TheEngineShed replied to Nigel Emery's topic in USA & Canadian Railroads
No traction tires and RP25 on the "American" version. https://www.piko-america.com/products/97447-sp-9002-diesel-loco-ho-scale This German site has some pics of pre production models. https://www.drehscheibe-online.de/foren/read.php?010,10559908 -
Lizzy Kitten and Tropical Storm Ophelia, not a hurricane, thankfully. The first snap is a bit fuzzy, it is windy out there...

I'm thinking the shot across the top of the Hattons' article showing four 22s are of the new run? There is some resolution there, if you open the image in a new tab...

HURRAH! Looks like they are imminent... https://www.hattons.co.uk/directory/versiondetails/article?id=310

Thanks! The newer Walthers locomotives run superbly, helical gear sets and five pole skewed motors. The H10-44s run as nice as anything I own.

Thank you, details have been submitted. I'm in the USA, so it is always a pain to return items to the UK. To be fair to Rapido, the only other item I have had to return in many years was that Pi Victory in the video. It came back a very smooth runner...
-
Thank you, I will that under consideration.

So my Rapido 15xx arrived stateside the other day, cosmetically very nice, a couple of very minor glue marks but I'm otherwise quite pleased. It is lively on the rolling rolling road, about on par with some of my Bachy Panniers. The 15xx is geared higher than the Pi Victory, so this isn't a totally fair video, and the 15xx should settle down a bit on track pulling a train. Smooth as clockwork though, it isn't. Fire irons and equipment

That Pannier on the Channel Islands Boat Express looks like it has a bell. This is a new one for me. Was the bell a requirement for street running? -

Interesting pricing, not the usual 100 quid difference between sound and not versions...

Hattons just added 10800 to my trunk. Now to see how long I wait before hitting the send button... 😀

These rolling pins look great. I am going to order a smaller, 1-4 mm stone roller. The roller linked below produces 4mm square stones. That would be approximately 7 inch square stones in 7mm scale? https://www.greenstuffworld.com/en/modelling-textured-rolling-pins/867-rolling-pin-sett-pavement.html

Badger airbrush blocks easily
TheEngineShed replied to roythebus1's topic in Weathering, Painting & Transfers
If your paint is coming from a jar, it helps to filter the paint as well, when you add it to the airbrush cup. I use a piece of a metal coffee filter, the kind meant to replace the paper filters. I'm fairly meticulous about cleaning the cap and rim when a jar is opened, but you would be surprised what ends up in the filter. Paint first through filter, then thinner or retarder to wash the remaining paint through the filter. -
A local animal shelter is getting a kitten socialized and ready for adoption! I fell for the litter named after Star Trek characters and came home with Tribbles...

That is a neat concept and I did not believe I have heard of anything similar on this side of the pond. A quick google turned up the Catnip Cat Cafe, just down the road from me. Apparently cat cafes started in Taiwan.

Wednesday is back home again, sunning herself without the curious dogs. Of course, there is that display of teeth again, she isn't just annoyed by German Shepherds.
-
Affectionate, but on the shy side. She arrived with mate, and really no trouble adjusting with the two existing cats and two dogs over the past week. Wednesday is a bit of a Gremlin though, green eyes staring out at you from the dark. She was curious but very cautious. Leather gloves are needed though, when it is time for her to go into the cat carrier...
