Excellent modelling as always and I really like your open commentary to your builds, filled with both fun and laughter as well as some serious top tips.
I am really tempted to try and get hold of some of these Slaters kits!!!! Oh Mikkel what have you started?!?!?!?!?!?

Thank you for sharing Mikkel. Some very useful hints and tips and I also rather like your 'paint and pigment' method. Many things and techniques to learn before rushing into Bath Stone region. I continue to watch and be inspired Sir.

Wow wow wow! Mikkel this is fantastic and a real inspiration, not to mention very useful pointers.
Fantastic modelling as always, some real discipline and excellent use of the Silhouette Cutter.
Looking forward to the next stages as well as finding out about your new method for brick painting.

Thanks Matt. I like trying to find old railway spots and seeing how they look today - even if it can be depressing!
Here is another way of doing that, which I recently came across on Youtube:
Thank you Mikkel, that is really very interesting and a very clever way to illustrate what is now and once was. I see there a re a number of other videos made, looks like I might be getting square eyes!

Fantastic modelling and an excellent portrayal of a snap shot of history. Outstanding work Mikkel and a real eye opener.
P.s. I really like the roofing suggestion could be a 'way out' for my particular sticking point. Thanks.

Lovely build and descriptors Mikkel, thank you for sharing. I have been thinking about that all brown livery for a while for a rescue I have lurking could be just the push I need. Looking forward to your lining and 'photo shoot'.

Mikkel this is lovely and some very nice additional touches. Love the lamps what part of a watch are those?
Have you seen the book by Janet Russell;
Great Western Horse Power
ISBN-10 : 086093425X
ISBN-13 : 978-0860934257
Some decent material here as well although what you have more than likely covers everything you require.

Utterly brilliant @Mikkel. Fantastic modelling as well as the concept.
Thank you for sharing and what a brilliant idea, bringing an entire new level to backscenes. Also provided me with a few ideas to maybe get my plans restarted, thank you.

Reading you blogs is proving to be expensive in the book department as well.

Outstanding Mikkel, thank you for your write up on the extra detailing to these kits. I have enjoyed building a number of these as you know and if you do not mind would like to use some of your knowledge to detail some more of these kits.
I really like your subtle weathering and the use of pigments. How do you fix the pigments please?

Not sure what Vallejo colours might give you that though. Matt
@AlfaZagato I had investigated a colour match from the 'Air' range directly against Railmatch Loco Green in the bottle without finding even a close match. I feel the 'Colour' range will probably best suit but may still need a mix and of course will need thinning if spraying. I am still looking though when I have access to shops as I prefer to spray ready prepared colour, my colour mixing (I feel) varies too much.

Thanks Mikkel have got it patch stripped back and hopefully the respray will work rather than having to take it all back like you had to. I'll pop the result on my thread so not to highjack your blog.
I have had that loco for a number of years. Originally purchased as a 'to complete' project but only just started. Luckily (or not depends how you view things) the only other half finished project in the bottom drawer is a twin railcar set with the additional middle coach. The project is not so much the build but the incorporation on appropriately sized, directly lighting for the cabs. Another skill set to learn, lol. The hobby just keeps giving.

Hi Mikkel,
Sorry to hear of your problem but an excellent and well controlled fix. Ironically after reading this blog I primed a bottom draw find and only have this happen!
This is primer from a spray can. I had previously cleaned the loco. The only thing I can think of that is different to my normal spraying conditions is slightly cooler, but not cold, weather and possibly spraying further than usual but again nothing of any great distance. Maybe I did not shake the can as much as I should have.
I am think about using some stripper for plastics on the effected areas and then respraying to see what happens. Great modelling as always.

Thanks Mikkel,
I am trying to decide on underlay etc for my developing layout and whilst researching came across your post. My layout will be a roundy roundy runner so obviously would like to try and reduce running noise and vibrations. I am considering using a foam underlay all over the ply board with cork base for the running lines to create the mainline raise shoulder effect.
I would be very grateful if I could have your opinion on the use of the foam as and if it is worth using or is the traditional cork on ply just as good and therefore cost/time effective. (Happy for a PM if you prefer).
Thank you for your time,
Matt.

Truly awesome. Thank you for sharing.

Lovely build, was tempted by this one myself. Luckily I checked the 'to do' cupboard and found a Falcon Brass 47xx, so far getting very motivated by your efforts. Keep it up.

Beautiful, must be very hard to let it go! Wish I was living in Brizzle at the moment.

Outstanding Mikkel. This is a real monster but only in size as the livery and modelling are exceptional. Some ingenious use I'd software, I applaud you Sir.
Unfortunately I don't have a solution for your dilemma as everything I can think of would be a little rigid and attached to either horse or carriage and still pose a potential storage problem.
Great modelling though.
