  1. fingers crossed that Rails dont have a spat between themsevles and Eapido and leave their customers in Limbo ala the Hornby mess.
  2. Got a Hush Hush coming over from the UK to Ireland from Cornwall. The Model Shop in question have used the wrong Tariff code which advises the courier to Apply duty. not great. Trying to sort this out. Conclusion Make sure to give UK companies the correct Tariff code as they don't seem to have a handle on this even a year later. I may end up clearing this myself yet, don't fancy spending another 4.7% of top of the price.
  3. Lights then Sorted too, Kinda annoys me now getting a 1st edition which is not quite perfect and the lads that sat on the fence now get a prefect model. The Etch Plate can be glued down with Crystal Clear
  4. Sorted I believe MV has it. Proper order too.
  5. Excellent result, Delighted someone else has got a F1 crown. Good box office for the Neutrals. Merc are a pack of moaners when it don't go there way.
  6. Bagged one this am, Had one in order to Support the LMS in Ireland but they have already let me down with the Doublo MN which I had on order the day they were announced and still no sign or coms about if it will ever come except for a "we will wait to see what comes in" reply.." So decided to seize the day a grab one.
  7. All ok here, down in East Cork in a valley so all is quite ok!
  8. IPA can be dropped to you within Ireland No hassle. Got some Dropped the other week from these lads. https://ie.rs-online.com/web/p/electronics-cleaners/2274427?cm_mmc=IE-PLA-DS3A-_-google-_-CSS_IE_EN_Facilities_Cleaning_%26_Maintenance_Whoop_HI+(2)-_-(IE:Whoop!)+Electronics+Cleaners-_-2274427&matchtype=&pla-299936613816&gclid=Cj0KCQiAqbyNBhC2ARIsALDwAsAbzHcJr8aTWk7AqwJLyZKOOdfC8vD2Ebejmz0Zgly1TUd_ZCltFBYaAgqEEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds On getting the paint off the metal parts of the track Cellusose thinners for enamel will take it off no bother with a damp cloth, Not for the plastic sleepers though. Marks don't have the Cleaning Cradle I have used white spirits and cotton buds for my wheels and a Fiberglass pen for the pick ups. Everything works perfect. BTW there is a Irish Form too that may help: https://irishrailwaymodeller.com/ Hope all is good in Kerry today George Cork.
  9. 5 years later my MN is still sticking, Have not got around to looking into it yet!! Sam did not feature that much or maybe I kipped off to, Bit Meh this one was. Was looking at acquiring Austrian HOe during the program to make sure the divorce happens Mind you forgot about the W1, checking with the LMS to see if they have one inbound for me.
  10. oh yes that would be nice, One of me DJM also.
  11. 20 and a 14KM walk when I was there...wrecked after it plus a trip back then to Hamburg This look a wee bit more manageable one in Friedrichshafen plus the Dornier museum on site!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6_osZLLmZY
  12. Wonder how much Brexit affected the drop, Personally my UK ordering for Hobby Related materials has dropped to almost nothing now and with shipping high from Europe nothing from there either.
  13. The Lightnings used to practice intercept with the Vulcans, There is a article in aeroplane monthly recently on this very thing. If you read the tiny text on the bottom of the matchbox one it explains it
  14. I always wanted a Scalextric for a pressie but it was never to be, the Missus to be understood this story of Woe and bought me a Formula 1 set some time ago when Jordan where going (good early sign in the relationship!). I added and added to it thinking of the joys I will have with my pending family full of Sons into trains boats and planes.....alas I was blessed with 3 girls and the Scalextric gets the odd airing even now and then which is a shame as its mostly in the loft all of the time. The Digital introduction should of given it a massive boost but did not I feel it did capture the imagination. The Shop I worked in Scalextric was the worst seller. The Cars are now so much detailed and some at €65.00 are just not for kids TBH or even the adults with a few pints in them as they are just seen as toys. Its still good fun though! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JU9ENkxZiTY
  15. yes looks fab but the oil on the body is a killer, I had a Hornby D49 1980's job, (still runs = with DCC too!) with a smoke generator, Loved it though. The smoker unit was taken out in the end. Seen other chaps chimneys sag from the heat if not operated properly.
  16. Don't forget the EE Lightning with no tail plane on the box art!! (thankfully they were inside the box) .Its Corrected I think now even though have not had a pilgrimage to a model shop for some time to check. In all fairness there has been some great box art work both Cross and the the new era. The Matchbox one though!! Love a full print of this for the wall!
  17. yes I meant to add a smiley face in me post!!
  18. Last nights one was ok. Kids will love that Toy Train set with sound, Pretty cool to get if you were a wee person. Bit about the Vampire was good too. They just need to spot the difference between a Lancaster and a Wellington now.
  19. Ok, 10 was a Figure I plucked out of thin air. I dont know how many HQ had in stock, Could of been none or 10, Not sure what the Trigger was to set off the a re order. HQ bought the kits and sent them out to the shops. I had normally 1of each in the shop (large ones, say Airfix kits, Hornby rolling stock etc 1 of each, Good Sellers maybe 2 items in stock.) HQ also did mail order and had other 3 outlets so every so often an order went into Revell, Hornby, Baccy etc to replenish stock and if the suppliers upped the cost then this affected the stock to hand also, We're not taking 1000's of items here and the pricing on boxes was changed immediately as the POS was a BAR code reader and the price cost in the system would of been updated straight away too. I was surprised myself when I started TBH but when explained it made sense. Storage wise I was lucky to have a space for a 6 pack of loo roll and some empty packaging so no luxury to separate stock. Hope fully the other chaps has cover the reasons behind this instead of some of you thinking its a bit sneaky.
  20. This is Ed at his finest. Take no notice. Never see any modelling pic from him but lots of these type of comments.
  21. Like the real thing all by hand!! Wonderful layout.
  22. I think from memory that you don't have the same protection under a Debit card compared to a credit card if your goods go missing Fraud etc.
  23. Suppliers set the prices you buy at, if they increase then you have to, Also Exchange rate can have an effect. You cant have a 2 tier pricing system for the same products. Daft. You can't split prices if you have everything read with bar code. Maybe you would find Mr Smith Model Emporium selling from his shed in Upper Snoring might do it as he is small enough.
  24. Well the boss did!! All have to be done as old and new will have the same barcode so everything has to be re priced.
  25. Fellas coining in big time with Tube, Maybe he has an only fans page too?
