Their website indicates that they are based in Hong Kong, but have warehouses in the UK, Netherlands, USA & Australia. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/faq?shumTo=IDfreeshipping-terms&shumParent=.faqBox&shumTarget=.block-heading - look under "Other Terms and Conditions". David, I agree with the fast post, but everytime I've used HobbyKing it has always charged me in US$, despite me using the UK site and warehouse. That lead to a small Bank charge for foreign currency. Ian

RMweb Premium Popular Post newbryford Posted October 5, 2020 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted October 5, 2020 Time for a timely reminder: After the previous thread was locked down. Post your links to useful modelling bargains here. And that includes tools and materials that may be of use, not just models. Please note that these bargains are available others - at the time of posting - and not that you've just obtained the one and only available item. Please add any extra details that may be helpful to others - for example - only available to shop callers/not an online offer etc. The odd discussion and question about said bargains are welcomed, but don't go mad with it, or the self-appointed Bargain Hunter Police (definitely not me!) will be on your case. There's no need for "me too " posts. Just tick the "Thanks" box. Likewise - no need for "thank you" posts - just tick the "Thanks" box - that's what it's for. There's no need for "nothing in it for me " either. If you think it is NOT a bargain, then don't post a reply unless you know of a better deal. Also - this is NOT a review thread - see the respective manufacturer threads for those. Discussions about the merits of courier/delivery companies are not welcome here - there are suitable threads elsewhere on RMweb. 6 12 6
Jack374
Just had an email from Rails about some 'bargain' 009 Heljan locomotives for £139.50...not sure how much of a bargain they are but compared to the RRP seems a good price... https://railsofsheffield.com/groups/3179/bargain-Heljan-oo9-locomotives Also I was browsing DCC Supplies' site and there are a few items that I thought were good value in their clearance: https://www.dccsupplies.com/cl-5034/clearance-items.htm I noticed some first batch (livery error) Dapol DRS 68 bodyshells for a tenner...useful if you want to produce a 'plain' livery cat such as 68026 et al a few years ago or ex-ScotRail 68006/7 currently. Interestingly enough Hattons did a live stream about these this morning and they want £186 for them IIRC. Our "friends" at 365games currently have a 10% off everything code: 10% OFF EVERYTHING Use Code OCT10 at the checkout. Which would, for example, make this 67 £111 https://www.365games.co.uk/model-kits/Hornby-db-cargo-uk-class-67-bo-bo-67024-belmond-british-pullman-era-11-model-train There are quite a few things on there at the moment that look quite cheap so 10% off may be excellent, but I aren't price checking their entire range! I have just ordered this as I am making up a fleet of small preserved locos to run on a secondary line when I get a new layout built https://www.365games.co.uk/model-kits/Hornby-john-dewar-and-sons-randh-48ds-0-4-0-no-458957-era-8-model-train?gclid=cjwkcajwq_d7bradeiwavmddhukchoalihdo3wgxd5ddmap6366ohlmsrorfvnhpgmg5py8qaeexyhoc99eqavd_bwe £57.59 delivered which I think is as cheap as it has ever got? Chrisr40
Ref the 365 games bargains I have been through the 600 plus Hornby items and best in my opinion is TTS chips for less than 30 quid after 10 % discount.
