The Q poll for tender engines was fairly easily won by the Q6, while for tanks there were few candidates. Things were rather complicated by a sub poll for EMUs though. If some clever person can put up Clive's list from a couple of pages back, we could do that one officially today though? I'm never sure how to do this cutting and pasting stuff.

My vote goes to the class 309, although the 310 is a close second as I spent many journeys in the saloon behind the driver's cab after school trying to figure out how the things were driven.

Still the Clacton units for me.

From the above list I would vote for the Glasgow Blue Train units, for their elegant front end design, sensible sliding doors at 1/3 and 2/3 spacing (when slam door stock continued to be built long after for other Regions) and the passengers view through the windscreens.

But if other overhead EMUs were allowed, Class 365 ....

Typical southern bias !!! (LOL). LNER -build North Tyneside EMU.

Dave Alexander, now sadly no longer with us, intended to introduce a kit. Hopefully someone somewhere will take up the slack. No good for Peterborough, of course, Gilbert.

I did say in a later post I forgot the LNWR Siemens stock converted to overhead for the Lancaster, Morecambe and Heysham services. And my vote goes for them.

Ah! John they had their pantograph on their bogies so are not included in this punch up. If we were to do a 3 rail (and 4th rail) contest then I may vote for them as well. But then there all those wonderful SR conversions of pregrouping stock, who doesn't like a LB&SCR 3SUB?

I'd forgotten the clever bit where, if I inadvertently pass my hand across the pad, it rearranges everything for me.

I hate touchpads. I've disabled mine and only use the mouse.

G'Day Folks

Got to pick the Clacton units, for best EMU's, but the REP's have got to be a very close second, both unit's had great acceleration and top speed.

How has the best looking 2-6-2 and most beautiful locomotive ever been omitted from this poll?

That would be because I have forgotten to do a 2.6.2 poll.:senile: I'll do it tomorrow, when the EMUs have flown away.
