Coach bogie
I always looked forward to seeing 60013 at Tees with it's odd Robert Boyle nameplates. Black on one side and red on the other. Mike Wiltshire

Grimleygrid
Again the 'original rise' of the 60s. Three brand new Class 60s, newly delivered from the nearby Brush works, at Leicester Depot on 21st July 1991 60064 Back Tor, 60065 Kinder Low and 60066 John Logie Baird 60064_LB001_41A_800.jpg Some lovely photos, they did look good in Sector livery. Thanks for posting them it is always nice to see photos of 60s back in their early days.
Grimleygrid
The overhaul certain has improved their reliability but there seem to have been quite a few failures recently and also a fair few visiting Toton. I wonder if they are failing with the same issues or just a bad run of form. Has anyone heard anything?
RMweb Premium newbryford Posted August 13, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 13, 2015 Rumours starting to surface that Colas have taken up their option on the second batch of 10. As always - it may be platform end wibble and don't shoot the messenger. Cheers, Mick
Grimleygrid
Rumours starting to surface that Colas have taken up their option on the second batch of 10. As always - it may be platform end wibble and don't shoot the messenger. Cheers, Mick Thanks Mick, that would very good news if rumours are correct and would also show that Colas were happy with the 60s. Fingers crossed as it would be nice to see more of them return to traffic.
Powerhaul 70 Pey
On my way home from Droylesden today I thought I would stop by the WCML in Golborne and catch the Sinfin to Grangemouth tanks and the Carlisle to Chirk log train that were both due to pass around 17:45. Missed the tanks but caught the logs through the fence and foliage. Colas Rail 60085 on the logs. Might try to catch the Preston to Lindsay tanks tomorrow if possible.

hammy
Sorry for the quality of these phone has decided to do everything on super rubbish quality today but hey ho anyway spotted these two backing into Kingsbury with the oil tanks today now if I'm right one is Territorial Army Centenary 60040 on the front and Clitheroe Castle 60024 in the sandwich
Grimleygrid
Hi Hammy, you are quite correct. 60024 Clitheroe Castle failed working 6M35 Humber to Kingsbury and 60040 came to the rescue. These have been a fair few 60 failures or the past couple of weeks.
RMweb Gold 4630 Posted August 28, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 28, 2015 Brighouse experienced today the rare pleasure of two freight workings within 10 minutes of each other. First up at 16.59 was 66060 which can be seen here; http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/73177-class-66-photosuk/page-40&do=findComment&comment=2000614 followed at 17.07 by 60020 working the Friday Only 6E14, 14.05 Seaforth to Tinsley empty steel. Earlier in the day 60024 worked 6M45, 06.06 Scunthorpe to Pendleton loaded hoppers through Brighouse, although I photographed it several miles further west at Smithy Bridge.

RMweb Gold 4630 Posted September 1, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 1, 2015 After descending from the summit at Copy Pit, 60095 eases 6E32, 12.30pm Preston Docks to Lindsey Oil Refinery, discharged bitumen tanks around the curve at Stansfield Hall Junction as the driver slows for Hall Royd Junction Todmorden on 1st September 2015.
RMweb Gold 4630 Posted September 3, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 3, 2015 A variation to the schedule this week has seen the 6M32 Lindsey Refinery to Preston Docks loaded bitumen tanks running to much later timings than usual, making a day time photograph in West Yorkshire possible. With a touch of Autumn in the air, a clean looking 60047 leads its load of 1,760 tons along the Calder Valley approaching Brighouse on 3rd September 2015.

Coach bogie
10 years ago if we wanted to see a 60 we just called in at Thornaby and there they were en masse. Mandrover
Was at Westbury at lunch time today and got to see 60001 getting ready to depart, but whilst it was waiting 60024 arrived with a second trainload of tanks. Unfortunately had to leave before all the shenanigans finished!
Steadfast
Westbury or Westerleigh? 60001 was on 6E41 to Lindsey and 024 came in with 6B13 from Robeston. Colas 60096 is the only 60 that's been at Westbury lately Jo
