The remaining 7 of the 2nd tender are part of ongoing negotiations but it doesn’t say who with or if spares or repair. I’ve just spoken to a mate of mine who works for GBRf with a update about the Class 60’s they are getting from DBC. It’s correct that there’s a good chance that the four that they bought are for “spares” but 60008 is possibly a candidate for a rebuild using bits of 60004, 14 and 18 depending on their condition. It’s hoped that GBRf will to expand its fleet of working Class 60’s to a minimum of 15. 5

RMweb Gold 4630 Posted February 5, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 5, 2019 GBRf has now started using its recently acquired Colas 60s on the Liverpool to Drax biomass trains. At this time of year there are generally about 5 loaded trains and corresponding return empties per day, Monday to Friday with fewer on Saturday and Sunday. So far this week 60002 and 60021 are both on the circuit. 60021 approaches Brighouse on 5th February with 6M36, 09.54 Drax to Liverpool Biomass Terminal, empty Drax IIA biomass hoppers. 60002 restarts 6E09, 07.11 Liverpool Biomass Terminal to Drax, from the signal protecting Heaton Lodge East Junction on 5th February.

RMweb Gold 4630 Posted February 20, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 20, 2019 60091 'Barry Needham' rumbles through Brighouse on 20th February 2019 with 6E26, 10.55 Knowsley Freight Terminal to Wilton Efw Terminal, loaded Merseyside binliner. Unusual, but very welcome, to see a 60 on this working. Gen on another forum suggests that it's only the fourth time since these almost daily workings commenced several years ago. 10
Jack374
Despite being away the last few weekends, on Monday I had a chance encounter with a tug, this being DB 60044 working the 6M00 Humber to Kingsbury tanks. I’d seen it was running in an earlier path which meant it’d be light when it passed Stenson Jn in South Derbyshire, and it even stopped at the protecting signal, allowing proper photos and detail shots. To boot, it sounded good when it departed and even slipped a couple of times on the video. Thanks, Jack.
