Thanks, it was a factory weathered model which I attacked with blue Tcut and cottonbuds, quick squirt of satin varnish and when dry lightly dusted with black and brown pigments. Thats how all my stock is done, some more weathered than others but I feel it  gives a sort of uniformity so nothing stands out to much.

^^^^I like the subtle weathering on that 31 :)

After working a pick-up goods up the Rossendale Valley, WD no. 90555 sits at the buffer stops, before shunting it's train into the yard.

 

 

This just oozes atmosphere, reminiscent of the end of steam in the North West in 1968 etc. Really excellent!

Absolutely and it just goes to shew that you don't need expensive model to make a believable, atmospheric scene.
