  3. I worked for a blissfully short time rebuilding Leyland bus engines, I was shown the door when I wanted to replace the camshaft bearings... The fuel pump speed limiter can be a little sloppy allowing the engine to hun.
  4. We sell the Lokpilot Nano E24. You’ll find them on our website under the class 59 pre order section. They’re pre mapped to work all of the lighting functions. Cheers Mike B
  5. I always said no thank you I am an aetheist and that was enough.

  7. . Different Sect, I know...... . But my nephew ( Brother's son ) is in the West End cast of "The Book of Mormon" at The Prince of Wales Theatre. . I still can't get used to him bursting on stage, as Elder Price, knocking on imaginary doors, and forcing 'Hello, Hello' through a cheesey grin. . If you are broad minded, and you get the chance . . . . . . . . . . . . .

  9. It's a remarkable transformation of your former temporary fiddle yard area in such a short space of time. The train in the Cuneo print has evidently strayed somewhat from its normal beat, part of the post-war Locomotive Exchange Trials perhaps

  13. I work for my state's department of transportation. Steel is always reported in pounds rather than tons. Aggregate and asphalt are always reported in tons, but not concrete, which is reported in cubic yards. Sod is always in square yards but grass seed is calculated as "units" based on the total poundage of bagged seed divided by the spread rate per acre.
  14. My partner isn't 'that kind of doctor' either, but sometimes I just can't help myself! 🎓 😎

    EBay madness

Sparklers work rather well and are easier to get hold of. So I'm told....
  16. Curses! I was going to have a bit of a lorry park on the layout. Unfortunately, I never invested in W^D Models British 3-ton lorries and not the company is defunct. Under the subsidy scheme vast numbers were built according to government specifications by various manufacturers in their own styles; AEC, Comer, Dennis, Thorneycroft. W^D Models hade some lovely kits of them.
  17. Nah, I know what happens at the end.
  18. Yeah, researching the Type 91 has really demonstrated that it's more of a basic shape of bunker than a standardized part. The bunker on 1436 didn't look like it was bulging uncomfortably from the frame, so it's probably a narrower type. Yeah, looking at that image and the 3/4 view of 1436 gave me the realization that I'd have to modify a lot of the Dapol model. It'd involve swapping on the pre-Collett cab with the later whistle, filing down the valence, swapping on smaller tanks/swapping on the later boiler, switching out the bunker with a 3D print, and redoing the mounting of the trailing axle (only moving it 0.5mm forward if it wouldn't mess up the pickups). If anything, the amount of modifications needed demonstrates how bizarre it was that No. 1436 of all engines survived as long as it did. I completely get why Dapol is making the 517's that better match the 48xx in terms of wheelbase, especially since the 0-4-2 is such a difficult wheel arrangement to nail in OO.

  20. The French pronounce the "i" subtly as "ly-ou". Looking up "why" the British English is different produces a zillion hits, and the more authoritative ones offer suggestions but ultimately conclude they really don't know why/how the English get "lef" out of "lieu".

  23. Good evening everyone Well, I got away very lightly at the gift shop in Dunham Massey, we came away with just one item, a faux box wreath and that had been reduced in price as well. The rest of the day was spent like the morning, carrying on with the card building making. All the structures are now built, I just need to add the small detail bits now and then finally give it all a coat or two of varnish. The evening was rounded off by opening a bottle of Shiraz and watching a film, tonight’s choice was a Sci Fi film called Deja Vu, we both enjoyed it.
