Pete the Elaner
Lots of photos of 86's & 87's in IC Swallow livery there. Interesting to see the variations within the livery: colour & position of nameplate. Position of INTERCITY logo, full/half yellow end & with/without swallow logo.

vitalspark
Looking through old pics would suggest under BR the 91s were at the London end while under GNER it was the opposite.

Popular Post Tim R-T-C
I do love the 86s, wish I had photographed more back in 'the day'. Got some film photos from the late 90s I need to scan at some point. A few digital highlights from my collection: 86902 sits in York by Timothy Young, on Flickr West Coast Main Line old and new by Timothy Young, on Flickr 86610 passing Warrington for Crewe by Timothy Young, on Flickr 86622 passes Maryland for Felixstowe by Timothy Young, on Flickr 20

IMG_000022.jpeg Class 91's have always been on the county end of the stock except after some diversions where they ended up the wrong way round - there were less oportunities for turning them than HSTs. I am aware of them being turned at Leeds on the triangle at Holbeck, via the high level line at Newcastle and possibly the triangle at Carstairs.
