RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted October 26, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 26, 2021 Phew! Luckily, the concept of building like a brick you-know-what has proved its worth. Apart from a very minor corner of the frame damage, no other issues. The backscene was loose anyway, awaiting refitting to get rid of a kink, the Forge is fine, the little shed is also loose, but has lost the chimney pot. Must take more care...
RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted October 26, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 26, 2021 Phew!!!!! I thought this was a new RMweb challenge, "Launching your trainset from a great height". Where there are two prize winners, the one with the least broken bits and the one with the most damage.
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted October 26, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 26, 2021 The upturned box of wires was not so fortunate, the base has smashed. Serves me right for buying from Poundland.

RMweb Gold Popular Post Stubby47 Posted October 29, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted October 29, 2021 Having survived falling from about 4ft to the garage floor, TF is now back with a replaced backscene and a new lighting rig. The point motor has been replaced, a new socket for the controller added, and testing has revealed all is now working as it should. So a good clean and sorting of rolling stock and it's just about ready for Sunday's exhibition. 16 4
RMweb Gold Mikkel Posted October 29, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 29, 2021 Looks better than ever, I think. No need to bring any stock for the exhibition, it's a pleasure to watch as it is. (OK, so the punters might complain a bit!). 2 3
KNP
Nice to see it back and appearing in one piece. I hope we get some pictures of rolling stock moving about on it. Lets hope you don't have a brick wall to run into......! 3 1

Showers, breakfast, and looking forward to a day of exhibiting again ( ooh, and the bacon butties at 9:30!). RMweb Premium Kris Posted October 31, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 31, 2021 It looked lovely, but with 2 children towing me around I didn't get a chance to look for more than 20 seconds.
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted October 31, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 31, 2021 Had a great day at the first exhibition in 2 years. Some of the stock was a little reluctant to play properly, but locos and layout behaved well. Some pics. And the Stubby47 Bespoke Model Buildings table. 14
RMweb Gold simonmcp Posted October 31, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 31, 2021 I can report that it ran fine when I saw it and Stu had to actually move the name board to show me the only real damage apart from a slight tear in the backscene. A lovely layout and very nicely modelled. His scratch built models are excellent as well. He didn't mention caravans or toilets once. treggyman
Hi Good to see you yesterday & today & have the opportunity for a good chat. Glad the layout ran well...... & your bespoke buildings looked really good as well.... Hopefully that takes off....Should do with that quality of build...... That chocolate cake was certainly rather good as well.... Cheers Bill
