68030 Black Douglas (ex 68019 Brutus) out for the first run in its new guise. Not sure whether Destroyer may well become Lord President!

Looks nice that - I can see why these things are causing some interest !

Just an observation, the Vossloh build plate should be Stadler for 68030.

Indeed I’m surprised Destroyer wasnt everyone’s number 1 choice for that reason.

..

but then these vapourised so fast I guess you cannot tell.

I have to secretly admit, I do own number 4.. at least hopefully, I ordered a digital Destroyer last week, if it turns up, i’ve a Chip to get rid of... if.. because the orders been sitting there pending...

DB V100, LMR cl 350

PKP Intercity stock

didnt realise Japanese loading gauge height was close to our own... no chance for width though.

Have you had the end of that 68 recoloured? Looks darker than most.

And I presume that 66 is an ESU one?

68’s are “as delivered”

66 is a HO Heljan one., next to a Hattons OO71D441CA-CE6A-4415-81A6-7E7FF6569254.jpeg.f7370b88ab4409a93bc40f529d8d1f9e.jpeg

I am thinking on an ESU HO “Rush Rail” 66 (now 66792), but at £400 + VAT + Handling, I am just thinking.

It is just the lighting I think.

Agreed, after your original comment I went close up and they look the same to me. Tbh my loft lighting isnt ideal.. just a strip light, I could do with a better solution but dont know.

Have you looked at the daylight LED bulbs you can get that replace a strip light? Not used one but have seen them get good reviews.

Ah ok I just know the colour was IDed as incorrect to begin with so wondered if they had tried to improve it.

If I have TP68 x4... Black Douglas would absolutely be my 4th.

Did you use railtecs kit for that ?

They are Railtec decals but nameplate is from Shawplan for 87030.

Just found that Railtec do class 68 detailing decals so have ordered to replace the Vossler plate with Stadler one.
