RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted February 20, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 20, 2019 I would describe my Jenny as Rubenesque, but in the nicest possible way, and very enthusiastic. Stop it, Johnster, or you'll need another cold shower...

Can’t even say ruddy. Hey, it’s been a while since I had to apologise for my poor eyesight and the confusion about Jill/Jenny. Still loafing tho...

gismorail
This layout never disappoints in the way the new scenes just keep appearing to amaze. The sheer detail that are in those fishing nets is incredible Kevin to the point that if I didn't know better I would think it was in 7mm gauge . 4
KNP
Thanks Martin. The fishing nets I don't think you can buy anymore as the model boat website I used at the time is no longer around, luckily I brought a big piece so I am alright for the moment. I plan to put some in Misty but couldn't find any decent pictures of how a steam drifter stored them on the deck - so left. You would never guess it but I built the nets on the drying frame in small sections and layered them, even the roll at the base is actually separate and just pushed into place... The floats are dress making beads! 1

RMweb Gold Harlequin Posted February 23, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 23, 2019 Hi Kevin, Another great image and I'd love to be able to expand it to see more detail but when I click on it it stays roughly the same 1500 pixels wide... Is that the size you uploaded or is the forum software intervening?
KNP
I think what's happened with this last picture is that as I reduced in size to under 1mb so I could use it as my profile header picture when posted on here it can't increase due to the limited pixel size. I'll have a go and see if posting a larger size has any effect. Thanks Phil
KNP
Now lets see what happens with this one. First one 682 kb, this one is now 2.51 Mb Interesting to see if there is any noticeable difference in quality! EDIT Well I can't see any difference.. No, I can't see any difference either - still 1500 pixels wide in all views; in the post, when clicked to open in a popup overlay and when clicked again to open it in a new window, which should show the original image. I think this is a glitch in the new forum software. How wide was the 2.51Mb image in pixels?

Starting with the last picture first. 2.51mb with a pixel size of 3329 x 779 682kb 3346 x 800 then most of the previous pictures have been a range of sizes from 1.8mb right up to 9.62mb with a pixel size of normally 3504 x 2336 (uncropped). The last two where heavily cropped in height so hence the greatly reduced pixel count for that.
Popular Post KNP
There is a message in this picture...…. Always check what you leave lying around before you take a picture. I had been moving around some modules at the back of the layout so moved the telegraph poles out of the way. The safest place for them was in front of the warehouse building, hence the end of a piece of plastic rod on the cobbles.... I reckon that is what Molly, Dolly and Alfie are chatting about... 21 2 3

I have read the FAQ about the changes in image display but it doesn't seem to explain this case. Thanks in anticipation.

I have read the FAQ about the changes in image display but it doesn't seem to explain this case. Thanks in anticipation. It's something I've had to implement due to the laziness or ignorance of file sizes of many users not resizing images appropriately (mostly poor pics) and wasting/hogging resources. I am working on solutions for this utilising the Gallery feature (when it's properly fixed) for certain categories of users. 1 4
