This sort of sums up Dad's passions - the Church and railways - only pity it wasn't a GWR scene. The other thread is about unusual trackwork, which I don't class this as.

More interesting trackwork, please.

Bardon Hill when we used to go there regularly, it really is as rough as it looks in the photo with odd cambers and the gradient going back up to the Quarry on the other side of the A511 main road. Some of my colleagues have had locos roll away through the catch points, one almost went down the bank into the stream at the bottom...!

It's quiet here again.  Somewhere else that's quite quiet. Feb2003  There is an actual train on The Cob in the haze as well.

Another wildcard or maybe something ecclesiastical but don't forget there aren't men of sufficient faith in Canterbury.

Here is Parson Street station in South Bristol, class 101 Met-Cam set B821 coasts through the empty platforms working the

14.30 Weston-super-Mare to Bristol Temple Meads. 3/2/81

At this date only the station only saw 5 trains a day calling Monday to Saturday, whereas the current timetable shows

40 trains a day Monday to Friday, and figures just released by the ORR show over 145,000 journeys in the year 2016/17.

And the next photo will be of a little used station,

cheers
