Any idea what's happened to West Coast Railways' 47245? Didn't appear with the other recently released catalogue 47s.

 

I seem to remember my sales team telling me that they should be here by the end of the month, but please don't hold me to it as things seem to be very fluid at Bachmann.

The availablily sheet I have here just shows it as sold out at the warehouse!

I think we have a fair few ordered, so hope they do prove popular when the finally arrive.

I know that this has already been asked but what has happened to 47245 in WCRC Maroon livery? 

 

This was due back in February, it's still not here, Hattons do not have a delivery date for it and it still advises February. 

 

Have these actually been produced or was the order cancelled before it reached the factory and we just haven't been notified about it? 

 

EDIT: Bachmann still have it listed on their website with an RRP of £159.95 with no delivery date. This would suggest that they have it in stock alike other items that are listed in the same way. So possibly we can expect them to arrive with retailers any time now?

Well spotted, so that's at least three missing. 

 

Is it a coincidence that they are all the same class of loco too? Could something of happened in relation to production specifically with the Class 47s?

I suspect it has sold out on pre-order at Bachmann and thus do not delay in pre-ordering it with your preferred retailer. My retailer tells me April (ie this month), along with the Colas 70/8 which has also sold out at Bachmann. I am sure when the new website is launched, it shall once again be easy to track progress.

I was tempted to pre-order a 245 but if I can't and don't get one then that's how it is. It's my own fault. I should have pre-ordered but I didn't think that their was a big demand for this loco, thus assuming that retailers would still have some. I know that I need to pre-order in future.

I'd be surprised they'd give away a BCC model in the listing, but you never know !

Not on the list, but Colas are raffling one off on their trade stand at Intermodal, so I'm guessing it must be here. I'm at the Intermodal event tomorrow. Must remember to take a stash of business cards with me

I wonder if some of the models that were supposedly on their way from China (e.g. 47245, 70805 and some Area Rep 47s) but have still not arrived were on the Maersk Honam, which caught fire in March and has only this week finally docked in Dubai for the transfer of undamaged containers?

I have heard that the Colas 70 was due into stock mid June. Not sure about the Freightliner one though. 

 

These two and the WCRC 47 were due to arrive months ago. The delivery dates just seem to be getting pushed back and the WCRC 47 doesn't even have a new delivery date. Hattons previously had it as due February 2018 a few weeks ago but this has now been changed to release information not available.

Disappointing for some who have been waiting for the WC 47.

However it does confirm that Bachmann's QC is much better than other manufacturers.

I wonder if the same happened to the two Area Rep 47s, 47625 (BR Blue weathered) and 47628 (GWR green). I was looking at the new Collectors Club magazine and they are down to arrive in July/August and June/July respectively, BUT the previous edition from about three months ago says that 47628 was available now. Presumably written in advance but surely on the basis that the models, like 47245, were already manufactured and on their way by sea.
