I don't suppose there is anything stopping you setting up a portable layout on the pationand having an outside operating session in the sun - well apart from the fact that everything is wrapped up ready for the move. It is a nice thought though setting up an exhibition layout out in the sun wouldn't be hard. Might surprise the neigbours though when the horn sounds an the 37 sets off.

If I hadn't  had so much to do I could of got the garden railway started and had an operating session with the radio controlled live steamers.  Ah well one day.

Take care

Hi Don, I have a few bits of wood, a Yard of O Gauge Track and all the tools, but it would be another bulky item to have to think about moving. If we knew we were going to be on a total Lock Down for say 6 or 9 Months, then It might be worth a thought, even if it was in OO with the 37 and 08 but at the moment I'm content to plan for the re build of SMS after the move and work out where all my bits will go in the new POD / Pit of Doom.:)

How do we know he hasn't started one.....in secret of course and keeping it under wraps (bubble)

Sadly not this time Guys.

I had a very kind offer from Peter BB to have Cadley Hill back until we move, but I really don't have the room to store it or work on it. I also have some more stuff to store in  TOPS as we sort out more cupboards.

Still at least I have plenty of photos from previous running sessions on Seven Mills, so more to come.

Hi Jim, Ignore young Ray below, haha, well actually it IS true, my Flip Flop is Steam Powered and so the Layouts get sold before they can be uploaded.:D

As for your question, well I have two cameras that I can use, The one used for the pic above of the Rat and Whistler is from my Fuji Finepix S5800.

My other Camera that I use for quickie shots, like the one  above of the 56 with the Catfish, is a Canon IXUS190,  but the Fuji is better for close up work and fine definition as it can be adjusted to F13.5, whatever that means, but it just makes close ups sharper.

Newer cameras don't seem to have such adjustments as the older Fuji, as I found out when trying to replace it, so bought the Canon to try a pocket camera, which is ideal for taking to Exhibitions as well.

Hope that helps Jim.

He has to use a Polaroid because his layouts change quicker than he can upload the pictures!   :jester:

Andy

Thanks for the info,much appreciated......

As for the F13.5 adjustment, this allows you to get a great depth of field hence the front & rear of the loco is sharp in the photos.

Carry on with the pictures and I have a word with young Ray when we are allowed to socialise again. :locomotive:

This morning we see the dirty Blue 20 heading down the old MOD Line whilst 47199 and an unidentified Rat sit on the Fuel Roads. This shot was taken with the Canon.

Morning Andy, what primer would you recommend for undercoating the Grampus wagon? I was looking at the Halfords ones.

Great shots by the way as always.

Not a clue mate, I've never done one, I do have some Halfords Grey and White Primer but the Grey is mainly for the Roads and the White is for Clouds etc.

Sorry I cant help with that one Julian.

Usually any etch primer is good for undercoat....

I am pretty fortunate if I can't get it from "Halfords" then I would pop into "The Range" and pick up a primer from there and it's probably £1:50 - £2:00 cheaper

Here's one from the Fuji, we see the 08 doing some Shunting, but the Driver and his mate appear to have vacated the cab.

This morning I decided to fit the Snow Ploughs to Highland 37, 37183 to match 37081, my Scottie Dog one.

They will be blended in, toned down and weathered once I have my stuff set up again after the move.
