Distance isn't a problem. It's working out where you can stop for a tinkle that is.

unseemly practices??  I have been a member of the EMGS for donkeys years and never knew about this sort of going’s on.  Have I been missing something?  How disappointing.  I think I should ask for my subs to be refunded.

I blame the Vice Chairman, not seen any vice whilst I've been a member.

It's 171 miles each way for me. I'm old, I'm disabled and I'm diabetic as well so I would have to stop at every other services for a tinkle. Fuel is at an all time high and you need to sell a kidney to take the train. Back in the day I would happily travel all over the country for a good show but sadly those days are gone. I blame the Tories but then I blame them for everything, mostly because it's all their fault.

Regards Lez.

Well it's all been a bit quiet on here, hasn't it.

As usual, January has been a bit of a whirl at work, so things are just beginning to settle down again.

However, I'm very pleased to announce that Ladmanlow will be appearing at the Festival of British Railway Modelling exhibition this coming weekend at Doncaster Racecourse.

I would love to see any of you who can make it, please come and say hello. We will be on stand 1 in the main entrance (no pressure then!!).

Cheers all,

Al.

I had planned to come to Donny primarily to see yourself and Ladmanlow but I’m now utterly bogged down in work. However a trip to SWAG is looking on the cards and I think we should organise a Peak District beer soon mate.

Thanks very much for all your comments and support.

Here's the layout set up in exhibition mode in my front room:

As you can see, there's not a lot of room!

Just dealing with a thousand little details, and packing tools, spares, and rolling stock. I haven't tried fitting it all in the car yet, so that could be interesting...

:D

Thanks for looking,

Al.

Halford have roof boxes if all else fails!

I can see the accident report now...

"Whilst proceeding at the posted speed limit on the northbound carriageway of the M1 motorway, my vehicle came into collision with a limestone embankment travelling in the opposite direction".

It really does look great, I don't think I have seen the entire layout before.

Just one thing, what happened to the backscene that went about fifteen miles in every direction?

They wouldn't let me dig up a chunk of Derbyshire and take it to Doncaster, said it was ecologically unsound or something...

How big do you think the car is, you wouldn't even get that in the landie, although in Derbyshire most owners carry a fair bit of it the wheel arches!

Apart from what you have forgotten! Good luck and have a great weekend. Your layouts are truly inspirational.

They might have let you take it anywhere except Yorkshire. They probably wouldn't give it back.
