I know, it was a difficult decision, but in the end I thought - stuff it...

5 hours on the M5 = not my idea of fun...

5 hours!!! Crikey. Glad I left early now, I must have missed the traffic.

Christmas morning Sherry drove us from Torquay to Crewe in about 4 hours - easy!

Incidentally, another layout owner (no names, no packdrill, as they used to say) suddenly realised - having been unexpectedly weighed down with other tasks just before the weekend - that he hadn't organised curtains to sit under the layout. As he left home he nicked the throw off the sofa!

I'm glad that I wasn't exhibiting then, you'd have seen a slice of the Great Western,, dressed up in Mexican blankets!

Only 2 and a half each way mate, it wasn't quite that bad...

We left Taunton at about half-four, and were home for half-nine, and that includes stopping for tea at Gloucester.

You are right to be horrified, Rob. There is every possibility that on his return, his wife offered him a small surgical operation with a pair of rusty scissors!

Well it could have been worse! It could have been with a blunt and rusty spoon!

I'd just like to point out that this is nothing to do with me. We're not married and none of the potential offensive weapons around here are rusty...

I think if it was you Rob, and your lovely partner MRRH there would be no "possibility" about it, swift and sure retribution would occur immediately...

It was great to see this on Sunday and meet Al, the pictures in the front of the layout were amazing.

Thanks Rob, it was a great day, and nice to meet you and everyone else, and see some superb layouts.

Jamie Warne @SouthernRegionSteam took some great photos of Ladmanlow whilst it was attending SWAG, here's a couple of them:

He also photoshopped a backscene into a few as well - seeing as I'd forgotten to take it with me...

You are very welcome - as I said to you, it's great to finally meet you and Ladmanlow after all this time.
The layout looked fantastic (even without a backscene!), and you must have the patience of a saint to do all that walling...

It really does look good, even without the official backscene. I'd like to see it in person some day.

We were busy relocating our junk pile, I mean moving house...

All charges relating to the doomsday device were dropped at The Hague...
