One you know and now more Silver Fox - than Seafox.. And one (unless you're in the know ) you've not met before.. A Vintage K's 40' GWR 40' Parcels Van.. Crikey! I’m trying to finish one of these this week, it’s only been around for a couple of years, well maybe three.....I’ll try and get a pic up tomorrow. 4 hours ago, toboldlygo said: Well I'm Aviation Security - so it doesn't quite have the same ring to it Well, I’m one of the people that had to get through to get to work..........guess we’re both not very busy at the moment .... 3

Hroth
The lower symbol on the Shackleton box looks like an Imperial Tie-Fighter. However, the guns on the Shackleton look like they'll have a good chance of hitting it.... 1

It's a new moulding, was release last year. It's also the correct length and doesn't come with a note of apology about the age of the tooling! 3

railroadbill
That's interesting about the Airfix mouldings being superior to Revell's. The Mk3 is really the one I'd like to build, (I actually want to hang it up "in flight" over a corner of the layout, to remind me of the ones I used to see when we went on holiday to North Cornwall in the 60's). Going to be quite a big model though. Edited April 5, 2020 by railroadbill

Going to be quite a big model though. Go for the new MR.3, even with it's flaws and wrong internal colours - it does fit together well (just needs a lot of clean up). Revell seem to have lost their way a bit, by taking short cuts and attention to detail. A Shack isn't small and as a MR.3 is going to be very heavy - as it's a tricycle undercarriage, not a tail-dragger. 60 grams of weight added to the nose.

railroadbill
Thanks for the info about the Shak Mk3, James. It's really useful to have some information before starting what is quite a large project. That's the one I'll go for when I can get down the local model shop. (One day when all this is over). The point about having to add nose weight is useful. All those prop blades may take a while....

The props on a Shackleton are like a production line in themselves - fortunately I have decals in my spares box from the MR.2, so I shouldn't need to paint the tips In the meantime... And Part 2 of her blog is up (first part of the build) 3
