What did I turn up with? 1958 Vauxhall Cresta. Bizarrely about half the price to insure than the MK2 Escorts most other teenagers seemed to run. It would probably have pulled that signal out of the ground in second gear too... Edited January 23, 2022 by MrWolf 2
MrWolf
Little jobs as promised. The cycle / parcels shed is installed and the last patch of bare plaster behind the platform now has its first layers of static grass. Image lost. MrWolf
The signal box has been lightly weathered and a tube hidden inside to carry lighting wires. I think that there's a couple of other jobs to do, so if you see something that I missed, please speak up! images lost. MrWolf
The Frankenstein Peco platelayers hut? Ongoing and was my test piece for the moss on the signalbox roof. It does have flashing cut from a bank receipt. Does that mean that the hut has cost me another £20 ? Or does it mean that I had a pleasant meal with Miss R on our afternoon out and free flashing on the hut? Everything else is in basic colour for now. I also have sheep to paint.... On my MG Midget, the bottom end of the signal would have been strapped to my Paddy Hopkirk boot rack and the front-seat passenger would have had to hold up the rest clear of the windscreen... 3
MrWolf
I suspect that it wouldn't have done your poor old MG much good. You'd probably never be able to get the doors open again. As for your passenger.... 1

MrWolf
It's dry brushing with enamel except the lichen which is a mixture of pale yellow, dark green and a little filler powder which is only loosely mixed together so that the colours aren't fully blended. It's based upon the rooves visible from the spare room window.
Popular Post MrWolf
Another small step forward. Inspired by the pictures @checkrailposted of Stoke Courtenay's platform fencing, I thought it was time to install some myself. The props are whatever was within reach! MrWolf
Installing the rest of the fencing means that I have to finish and plant the station building of course. So the order of construction is pretty much working itself out. Plus if I get the main parts built along the rear of the layout, the backscene can be fitted at last.

MrWolf
At least visitors will know where they are now. I've seen photos of GWR running in boards with a Mazawattee Tea sign hung beneath it, so I added one. image lost Edited September 5, 2022 by MrWolf Image missing
Popular Post MrWolf
It's starting to make more sense now that I have taken a number of photos which I find helpful to see how the components work together. There's a lot to do to make the surface of the goods yard look convincing I think. images lost. RMweb Gold longchap Posted January 23, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 23, 2022 What a superb set of photos, I like them muchly Rob. Very Great Western and executed with skill and an eye for creating the look of a GWR branch yard. You should be pleased. Your goods shed reminds me of the one I’ve built of Chudleigh, soon to be finished and positioned in a similar setting to Aston on Clun. Lovely modelling. RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted January 23, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 23, 2022 Evening Rob. Aston is looking very nice indeed and as has been said, the view across the goods yard is particularly pleasing. As you know, I also take a lot of photos and they really do help to 'see' things. There are some very nice camera views emerging along the way as well. Spiffing. Rob. 3 1
Winslow Boy
I do like surface of the platforms Rob very realistic. Just like the stuff I was trudging along this morning whilst out with the Devil Dog. Excellent work in deed. Ian
Tortuga
All the station elements tie together to present a believable GWR station - looking really good there! What is the white car lurking behind the station building by the way?
