There was a pair of 88s on the 3J11 circuit for a couple of days last week.

Unfortunately, totally dark when it passes me.

The circuit is currently running to a modified form as the top end of the S&C is still closed after the Petterill Bridge derailment.

Evening all.

A few images of 66848 and 66849 taken at Sheffield this morning in the rain. My first chance to see a working RHTT up close and personal (as opposed to fleeting glances at a distance.) Could hardly believe the state of the two locos, but quietly amused to see the effort to at least keep the cabside numbers clean(ish). Weather was filthy too, but it all adds to the imagery.

Best wishes,

Paul

Judging by the amount of green foliage, that wasn't this week.

But why did it visit - or has it been stabled on the line ?

I saw an RHTT (well in silhouette anyway) crossing Woolgrove Road bridge on the Up line about 5pm today as I went to collect the car from its MoT & service.  Judging by the number of leaves I was wading through, its services were needed, and from the hissing noise, it was clearly spraying.

There was a short RHTT MPV pair working with clouds of spray through Weybridge on the down slow line which then crossed the main up and down lines to travel onto the branch towards Addlestone this evening at 1605 but regrettably too dark to take any useful pics.
