Having watched a couple of a leading landscape photographer's videos on 'deliberate camera movement' that ended up producing images I used to easily get on my box brownie without even trying, I think you might have created a new arty photography genre there....!! 😎

Evening all, 

 

Post event admin continues today with monies forwarded to those members who sold items via the Bring and Buy, something that myself and Godfrey are hoping to complete by tomorrow at the latest.

Well, I can now confirm that all members who sold via the bring and buy have, bar one, been sent their money. 

 

Next will be the charitable donation......once I've worked out how to do it........

Morning all, 

 

Aside from having a jolly nice day, surrounded by jolly nice people, enjoying jolly nice cake, one of the aims of SWAG is that we raise a couple of bob for charity. 

 

First though, I'd like to thank all the members who brought their layouts or shared their techniques via their demos. In addition, there were those who made themselves available to run or assist with the various aspects of the catering and bring and buy sale. Both were very succesful this year. And there were those who simply made themselves available to help out, remaining behind to close the day down and run a brush around the hall. Some helped us financially ahead of the event by selling items to raise funds. For clarity, our available funds to pay for this event in November last year was zero. I must also thank those members who were too far away to attend the day who made a donation. 

 

You have all made the day what it turned out to be and provided the many visitors who made the trip to see us with what I think was a great advertisement for our hobby. 

 

And I must thank these visitors, many of whom travelling long distances, for making the trip. 

 

Collectively, this year, we have managed to raise and donate £650.00 to The Stroke Association. 

 

We have also managed to secure sufficient funds to allow us to hold SWAG'24. 

 

I think that this is no mean achievement for an event which is free to enter. 

 

Thanks in no small part to the donations we received from visitors on the day, I can confirm that though we are still running a bit close for comfort, we now have the finances in place to hold SWAG'24*, which once again will be free to enter. 

 

Therefore, it just remains for me to say that SWAG'24 will be held at Staplegrove Village Hall on Sunday the 28th April 2024. 

 

We will see you there and once again, thank you all.

You and the team deserve a massive pat on the back for this Rob as well as everyone who donated - that's an amazing result. And all for nice folk having fun doing something they love. It beats doing a marathon or skydiving anyway.
