Just got home from a N shift on the DLR and this was waiting for me to enjoy 😀

It's done that upside picture loading thing and I'm too tired to sort it

Absolutely delighted with this one. As always with Accurascale, the care and dedication to the overall product is so evident with every inclusion here, in what has to be the best box design to date. I may post some more detailed thoughts and pictures later - depends if I can turn my eyes away from those gorgeous red grilles!

Hi @Bryn_Bach_Railway,

Well spotted!

As reported elsewhere, production of our Class 66 run 1 is now complete and the majority are on the high seas and due with us in approx. 7 weeks time.

So that should be in time for weathering before DEMU Showcase in June.

Hi Mick,

Look forward to seeing it weathered up in person at Showcase!

Cheers!

The exhaust/silencer seems to sit high compared to the prototype.

I have to say the maroon grilles accentuate the superb detail that black paint on all the others tends to hide.

rather distasteful to make fun of a driver's misfortune.

Looks like a point issue rather than driver issue, only his pride will hurt and he will no doubt get plenty leg pulling about it by his workmates.

Hi,

From a photographic perspective, I think both of those pics are brilliant!

The first one is really well thought out, just like the model...the second one is an excellent example of how trap points work 'in real life', so Thanks for your post.

As for making fun of the Drivers misfortune, there's plenty gonna be said about this event within the industry, some of it will be a lot more unpleasant than this post. Probably best then, that only the people that matter will be involved in the official enquiry etc.

My only opinion on the subject is I'm happy that the crew appear to be okay, and, this wasn't as 'full scale bad' as it could have been. Those pesky, expensive, nuisance trap points really have saved lives on this occasion, no?

Back to the Accurascale 66.....

Due to self inflicted personal reasons, I have had to cancel a load of, in fact ALL model railway purchases for the foreseeable future. As a result, I won't be seeing any of this batch of 66's here on my layout. I'm really looking forward instead, to seeing these on other peoples layouts, working.

I'm not really interested in being told about all the perceived errors or what's wrong with it, I'm looking forward to just seeing people enjoying them.

Shed.

That was certainly not the intention. It was posted in good faith focusing the humour on the equipment rather than any individual in what I understand to be a minor incident where everyone is safe. I understand your point though and hadn't considered that it might be viewed that way, apologies.

Some years ago a good friend put a 47 in the sand drag at Swale halt on the Sheerness Branch - he was greeted by the comment "In the sand !!!" (those of  a certain age will remember the ad) for YEARS after .............................
