Anyone know what was working 3J51 yesterday and what will be working it today?

(York - Scarborough - Hull - Scarborough - York)

From a gen site (2nd October): 3J51 37422 + 642021 + 642020 + 37419

I normally don't get a good opportunity to see "my" RHTT for pictures, but it drifted to a halt today near work. 3J11 Kingmoor-Kingmoor via most of the north-west at Settle 6/10/23.

A dead 88002 with 68033 at the back (not in multi, so it needs another driver or loco).

Gave me the chance to see the  weathering up close after 5 days of operation.

Notice how the crud is "directional" and the clean bits face away from the jetting module - even round the weld lines - and that the tank above the jetting head is reasonably clean.

It has managed to limp down to Settle Junction and reverse towards Carlisle.

Local gen suggests the 88 will be replaced with 68022.

If so, will this be the first time a TPE liveried 68 has been used on RHTT duties?

Managed to see 68022 passing my house (quick grab shot) leading 3J11 Kingmoor-Kingmoor on 8/10/23.

They aren't having much luck round my way as 3J11 was commandeered at Blackburn not long after my pic to rescue an ailing MPV at Burnley Manchester Road.

(My mate has the video of 68002 leading RHTT/68033/MPV!)

And he's let me upload it to youtube.

Anyone would think that there are drivers trying to get in as many obscure routes as possible.  This seems to go all around the houses

That one won't be an RHTT, the 2Q headcode suggest an NR DMU.

Hope that helps

And here they are, further into today's schedule, in the afternoon sunshine approaching Brighouse.

Quick photos at Carlisle on Saturday. I believe the headcode was 6Z78 but I can't find it on any of the websites such as RTT or Railcam

If the timings at Carlisle match this as it was a very late arrival, then yes 6Z78.

That makes sense - thank you and also to 6990 WS - there were lots of very frustrated folk at Carlisle trying to get to Newcastle etc. for whom there was no rail replacement bus as Northern had issued a "do not travel" notice

I assume this was treated as a test train as well as passenger services started shortly afterwards..
