It was grinding to halt several times earlier.. I knew I shouldn't have mentioned Cockwombles. We had a major one, he decided that the yellow hatched box was a good place to park.. The yellow hatched box is outside our open gates at work... So the article lorry leaving, couldn't.. Behind him was me.... Behind me was a lot of other cars... It took fifteen minutes to find the Cockwomble from the factory that backs onto our gates... That put me passing the upper primary school at kicking out time. Just cleared the block and seen the cameras catch 3 in short succession in the 40 zone...... Destination: a South coast based purveyor of small items that run on parallel bits of metal..... RMweb Premium Popular Post Dave Hunt Posted February 13, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 13, 2019 So, there I was with my new laser printer fresh out of the box; all I had to do was connect it up (which I managed to do successfully despite the so-called instructions consisting purely of six miniscule sketches with arrows) but there was one small snag in that it was about four inches deeper that my old printer, which meant that it overhung the shelf on which it stands and was a little unstable as a result. No problem, I'll simply move the desk four inches away from the wall. Ah, that means I'll have to move the old bookcase at the side the same amount but never mind, I'll get SWMBO to assist. "Wouldn't it be better to empty the bookcase first," asked SWMBO. "Nah, we'll be able to move it as it is", sez I so we started. All went well for about two inches, then there was a sort of creaking noise followed by a sort of cracking noise followed by a cascade of books, shelves and other assorted bits 'n pieces. I think I said something along the lines of "Dash and bother." At that stage the realisation slowly dawned that what I had failed to note was that the top of the bookcase had been attached to the wall. This was about 11.15 this morning. By 5.30 pm I had finished rebuilding the bookcase, redrilled and plugged the wall and connected the bookcase to it, put all the books back and finally got the printer going. Tomorrow I'll fill the holes in the wall and paint over the damage. Ah, well, on the bright side it was only the bookcase and the wall that suffered; I got away without doing a GDB in the process, although as the Duke of Wellington would have said, it was a damn close-run thing as I was left holding the disintegrating edifice with books raining all over me. With "auditors" at the Long Island client, the level of frantic has just been elevate Yesterday saw us get another 5 inches of snow time it was done. We're now up to 39 inches for the season, and 25 in the last nine days. So instead of it looking like a light winter, we're right on track for an average or possibly record after all. -15 first thing and cloudy, a whopping -7 right now, still cloudy but no more snow expected until later tomorrow. What a madhouse of weather we are having down the eastern side of the continent. From the top, Queensland, high temperatures, dust storms, tropical rain. NSW, high temperatures, bushfires, flood waters receding. Victoria, high temperatures, alpine snow. Tasmania, last week we had record-breaking high temperatures with bushfires' statewide, this week we have had rain and alpine snow. I do hope Chrisf packed well, in fact, your better of not packing anything and buying as you need it when you come down here. My best wishes' to all with horrible ailments, most of us RMwebers are a dying breed, me included but, we do encourage and spur each one on.
