Early Risers.

When I bought my ski pass in October it seems I was sufficiently clairvoyant to purchase insurance at the same time. The pass cost $469 and the insurance was only $30 so I must have thought it was a good idea. I just got off the phone with a nice lady who I think is in South or Central America. I thought any reimbursement would be prorated somehow. After all, I was able to use the pass for six days and it had already paid for itself compared with the cost of buying single day tickets, but the nice lady informed me that (subject to supporting medical evidence naturally) the insurance will cover the full amount of the pass.

EDIT: Oh good! We're on a new page.

Evening all from Estuary-Land. Looks as if its going to be a fine day tomorrow if a bit chilly so I should be able to get on with clearing the shed. Not a lot else to report, be back later.

Good evening everyone

Once Sheila had left for her Zumba class I made a start on the soup. This was all done for just before11:00. I then sat down with muggertea No2 and perused the rmweb whilst I drank it. Then I headed off to the workshop and spent the morning pottering about not doing an awful lot, just tinkering with little bits that always seem to take longer than you think to do. I was soldering up one of the MERG kits when my soldering iron broke, the sleeve that the element fits inside snapped, so I decided to make a replacement sleeve to go over the break. I’d just faced off the bar and was just about to drill down the centre when I noticed that my centre drill wasn’t lining up with the middle of the bar. So before I could go any further, I had to adjust the tail stock to ensure it lined exactly with the centre of the work piece, a fiddly job, but one definitely worth getting right, because now I can drill a hole that is dead centre of the work piece.

James and Amelia both enjoyed tonight’s curry and cupcakes, Amelia enveloped had two of them!

Goodnight all

Mooring Awl ,Inner Temple here,

A normal sleep for me ie 4 in bed and 2 on the sofa, with brexit trying to send me to sleep in between..

Ben decided to go on patrol this morning so I was able to see we have now about a dozen daffs out,  it was very cold, but we did not have the forecast frost, however my breath was coming out as steam. We also did  not need the outside lights on for the first time this year. The final drive into work showed the great fried egg just above the horizon.

The workers doing the strip out of the old boiler house have had a week or so of nice weather, while they worked inside, yesterday while they were taking down the chiminey it chucked it down.. (stainless steel tube 2ft diameter 30ft+ tall sectional). They now have a raised concrete bed to chisel off the floor, then brick up the old chiminey hole the ventilators and the old double door entrance. while that is going one the new AC for the outer lab should be fitted. once thats done there is a planned one day shut down in the outer lab for changeover between the system.

once the new system is running the old system will be removed, that  is in front of the adjoining wall to the boiler room. A plastic tent will be erected while thay take down that wall, and the old AC will go into the boiler room. Then a half Glass partition  + doors will fill the hole. after that fit out of the new lab will take place. an it becomes musical instrument time as stuff gets shiffted around.

I gain more room in my lab, and less people wandering in to upset my readings. I lose in that I will have to drag the major systems futher to my lab for their calibrations and there will be more major systems....

Delayed a bit from finishing this due to a discussion on micro chucks that fit into a pillar drill chuck  the purpose being....

Time to get to work...

Good morning everyone

There are quite a few clouds in the sky but the sun is trying to break through. My first task this morning is a visit to the dentist, once done I come back and hav my breakfast then it’s off to the Trafford Centre alone, so it will be a very quick trip, home via the butchers for our weekly meat rations and hopefully a pastie for dinner. After dinner I’m not sure what I’ll be doing, possibly a bit of art work on the computer in the cellar.

Back later

Morning, we have a frost but the cloud is rolling in and there's not much blue sky. Stomach still sore from the surgery, that's two weeks today, but everything looks to be healing fine on the outside, planning a walk later, trying to build up some fitness and lose some weight gained with all the pampering and in activity. Not been up to the railway room for weeks, but the minds active with the new layout plans.

Morning all from Estuary-Land. I was up at 7 this morning where did two of the last 3 hours go? I now have almost enough ply to finish off lining the shed. In the garage I had stored an old bed, this has a solid plywood base so out with the tape measure to find that its 92 cm X 190 cm, as near as dammit the size of the end wall of the shed. It will only need a 10 cm piece between it and the ceiling, now all I have to do is get it from the garage to the shed. Speaking of which I'll have to get on with clearing it, be back later.
