RMweb Premium Popular Post jjb1970 Posted April 13 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 13 Next week is shipping week here, a monumental junket (or rather series of junkets over the week) which will see 100's (perhaps 1000's) fly around the world to do some 'networking' and no doubt make a lot of presentations about the importance of emitting less. At the risk of sounding cynical, I'd guess 90%+ of the 'networking' will be people having the same conversations with the same people they see at all of these events and will achieve nothing. I'm trying to avoid but unfortunately can't fully avoid. I know this is highly hypocritical as I fly a ridiculous number of miles, but I do try and limit my excursions to things like IMO meetings which do have a real purpose and which need in-person interaction to work, I really try to avoid flying and travelling for junket type stuff as aside from the obvious point about the hypocrisy of preaching about emissions while flying around the world for no real purpose I fly enough to have zero interest in adding more flights (and I say that as a keen airliner enthusiast). 17

RMweb Premium Popular Post polybear Posted April 13 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 13 Bear here.... A bit more G-word today methinks - at least one lawn to cut, plus various other assorted G dross. I also need to search out any new garden hose spray nozzles I may have kicking around, before I go ordering another - the current one is fubarred and I'm fed up getting soaked by it (it's a miracle I've not soaked anyone walking by as well - it's only a matter of time). Other missions? Work Boots to polish, Airport parking & insurance to arrange, new watch arrival promised..... That'll do for starters BG
Popular Post Smiffy2
Morning all. Woken at 7.30 by the Amazon driver playing knock down ginger. Order included 3.5kg of birdseed, in a plastic tub. A broken plastic tub. So the birdseed was in the box; when it poured out over my feet on the doorstep it gave me a clue that not all was well. So now I have 5 litres of loose birdseed and nowhere to keep it. Impressed? Not so much...

Do you sneak up on it from behind and throw a switch or is there a distant 'power van' (along with presumably a mobile scope van) where the switch would be located. I wouldn't want to go anywhere near the front side of that truck while the device was 'on'. 0.5MW transmission power... 1.9us pulse width at a prf of 500Hz and Frequency about 3Ghz Yes a scopies wagon, and a generator wagon. The radar controls were in the scopies wagon, though if all else fails you could always turn off the generator. A few years ago, SWMBO got commissioned to paint a picture of the main ice cream boat on the broads, I believe there are two now.. Mooring Awl, 3 hours sleep, 4 hours sleep, 30 minutes sleep. Ben the impatient Collie wanted out, he had a good patrol, plenty of snuffling, I think we have two resident Muntjac in the depths of the jungle. Thin high grey cloud, not a lot of wind. That grass is about 1/5 of our "estate" , the easy mow space is about the same area, about 3 more fifths are mowable, weaving between trees, plants and buildings, and the final fifth is effectively jungle. There's still a lot of chopping back before I can get the mower in. Plans for today.. Lying around , Under or by the lawn mower to change the blade drive belt.. RMweb Premium Popular Post Barry O Posted April 13 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 13 Ey up! @Erichill16 knows all about drivers who stop at a roundabout which is empty.. its a Barnsley thing.. happens all the time. @polybear you were ripped off.. my "Brietling " cost 5 ringitts and lasted 25 years from a stall in KL.. Today will see some wire strangling and a bit of grass cutting (if the mower doesn't sink!) One of my items which represent a vehicle used as a braking device was accidentally totalled at York. A replacement kit has arrived.. from Judith Edge.. unfortunately its a plastic set of parts not her usual etched metal creation! Time to drink my tea and gerronwithit. Have a great day! Popular Post Hroth
I placed an order with Amazon on the last day of my holliers (Thurs) and they promised faithfully to deliver on Sunday, which was fine by me. I arrived home on Friday morning and looked at emails to find that not only had it been dispatched, but that it would be arriving within the next couple of hours... Doorbell rang and the parcel was HANDED over! 10/10! Best thing was the confirmation of delivery email some minutes later that claimed that the item had been "posted through my letterbox"... I've just checked, and it definitely wouldn't have fitted, even with the aid of a lump hammer! Edited April 13 by Hroth added info an spelin cheque... 22

No need to worry about that now that Easters behind us. The only problem you have to watch though is by cutting it really short is that it will grow that bit faster to recover. As a result you may find you have to cut it again sooner rather than later. This will lessen as it gets warmer and the grass slows down. At which point you can either lengthen the time between cuts or alternately increase the height of cut. All depends on which is easier. 1

Definitely a Tick. I've decided to be neighbourly and not fire up (= plug in) the mower until ten a.m. - Bear Avenue is rather quiet at the moment. I use my airfryer quite a bit, but it's easy to get in a rut - I'd like some new ideas, and not necessarily those that require a top-of-the-range multimode singing and dancing AI controlled model, but ideas that are sensible - I'm not going to fill the basked with curry (no, really). The one I have in France can be controlled from my phone. Why? I have to be there to put the ingredients into the damned thing, why would I wander off and start it from another room? Pointless. And breathe... 3 2

Good for chips, chicken breasts, sossidges, pies and pasties, roast veggies. Not for gourmet meals, but a good time-and-trouble saver, but a thing that rhymes with mugger to keep clean. RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted April 13 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 13 Good morning everyone A dull, grey and wet start to the day here in England’s northwest corner, so definitely nothing going on outside! I’ll shortly be setting off to collect Sheila’s prescription from the pharmacy and then I’ll go and collect Ava, who will be assisting me in making some rhubarb and strawberry jam. The kitchen and most of the house will have that warm, sweet aroma of homemade jam for most of the day after that. Back later. Brian
