You have missed out the Pakistani Test at Manchester. So all the major grounds get at least one Test ..... Probably today is my last game at Lord's this season , discounting the slight possibility of a T20 quarter final; which could be interesting as they start to demolish the Compton and Edrich stands tomorrow! Bill Headingley is the major ground...no test but London gets 3...and Bill the square at Lords is very, very poor at the moment as it has been for a while. After bits of rain today it was a good day for most but my umpiring colleagues had very bad days at the office. Poor decision making, allowing the batsman dictate condition, missed no balls, poor positioning and the 4th umpire had a mare as wel. Still with a target of about 350 we shall see how England gol Sleep well and have a great day tomorrow. Baz 17

I had some trepidation given that it followed hard on the heels of nearly 3 weeks in the US, with all that implies for waistline, cholesterol etc etc. Compared to this time last year (coincidentally to the day) I was half a stone lighter, lower BP, lower cholesterol (and ratio of good to bad maintained an excellent rating) and so I was somewhat surprised and relieved. Usual tellings off for drinking alcohol and being fairly sedentary, and usual suggestions for taking more exercise, which I intend to take up. But then you know what they say about intentions.... I see rain is showing why there are less tests up north.....although I understand part of the reason is that no b*gger goes to them; things must have changed since I last a test at Headingley; it was full then. Pack3d today apart from one bit of hospitality who all stayed inside..corporate drinking.... 12

RMweb Premium Popular Post BSW01 Posted August 22, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted August 22, 2019 (edited) Good evening everyone I’ve had a good day in the cellar, 90% of the woodwork has had one coat of undercoat, the only things I didn’t get done was one side of the banister upright and the doors. It’s a little patchy, but I’d rather put 2 thin coats of paint on than 1 thick one and end up with the paint running (I don’t like none drip paint). After dinner I ended up going to the big orange DIY shed to buy some more paint and floor varnish. I intend to varnish the stair treads from the top down, as it won’t be a problem, as I can let myself out of the outside cellar door and get back in the house through either the kitchen or front doors. After tea tea I went to Salford Quays for another swim, there wasn’t many of us in swimming cozies, myself and 3 young ladies was all, everyone else was suited up, (some were even booted too) wimps! The water is definitely cooling down, the sign on the booking office window read 19C tonight, but I really think it was colder than that. Despite the cold and the stiff breeze, which was making the water very choppy, I sill managed a mile in 37 minutes, but it was hard going, I needed to lift my head a lot further to avoid getting a mouth full of water and the waves made swimming quite difficult too! The cold also meant I was starting with leg cramps just as I was reaching the last 100m or so, but a nice hot shower brought instant relief. To be totally honest, I suspect next week will probably be the last time I wear just my swimming trunks, I think even I’ll be getting my wetsuit out next month. Oops, I forgot to say how nice it was to see Deb’s posting again. Goodnight awl Edited August 22, 2019 by BSW01 20

RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted August 23, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted August 23, 2019 Mooring Awl Inner Temple hare, from the sofa.. A good nights sleep, helped by taking little pink pills, I fell asleep in bed while reading woke an hourish later when the book fell off.. Then slept solid. Nice to se Debs back.. I've been awake for half an hour, SWMBOs lap top updates reached April 2018 last night. It's currently doing the latest up dates now sat on the table next to me (21%) Varnishing, today a tin of LA Tonkinois should arrive, the makers of this are probably the last manufacturers of traditional natural varnish. All others are chemical mixes that do not work as they once did, since the EU banned various chemicals that made them Work. One chemical marine yacht varnish now has a label stating "not for use in a marine environment " If you go on yachting forums LA Tonkinois is the one they all recommend... Today at work I have a big pile current shunts to do, already brought through as yesterday we had temporary access through the old lab, as there were no contractors on site. We removed a large piece of ducting from the roof space as no longer needed. One thing we will Have is some fresh air, a heat exchanger has been fitted and we'll have 15% fresh air. In the past the labs were 100% recirculated air.. It could get my lab in a lab very stuffy... PC at 27% It's Time to get up and make breakfast...
Popular Post Robert
Morning All, It is a pleasant morning again. Sunshine, and blue sky. After my dentist visit yesterday, my teeth are all Ok which is always good to know. However, the journey was horrendous. Two accidents resulted in the motorway being shut for three hours, and the Theorore Heuss bridge in the middle of Mainz was also closed due to an accident. Getting home yesterday evening proved to be "interesting"! Have a good day everyone... 1
Popular Post chrisf
Good morning one and all The new Polo is safely gathered in and the old one rests in the care of the dealership. It should have had a spare key so I have been made to pay for a new one. Where the original is I have no idea but rest assured I would have looked if I had known where to look. Meanwhile, I am geting used to the good and bad points of the new one. It is by no means obvious where I should put the CDs and would you believe that I only realised right at the end of the process that I now have a five door car? In my defence, I have been distracted by other things this week. It's not every day that you go through a break-up, thank goodness. Most of the congenital idiots who park in this street do so in the middle of a space which is large enough to accommodate a frigate and do not seem to realise that if you park next to the car in front or the one behind you can fit in more cars. Yesterday was a fine day for that lesson to be learned. The cars behind and in front of mine have been parked so intimately that I'm not sure how I will be able to get mine out. Mine needs a full tank to get me to Cardiff in the morning. I recall the good old days when dealerships gave you something a bit nearer to a full tank, but that was then. I also need to be able to slip away at stupid o'clock tomorrow with my boots in the boot. Sooner or later today someone will go to work and solve the problem - won't they? Back on Sunday. Best wishes to all Chris 6
RMweb Premium Popular Post jamie92208 Posted August 23, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted August 23, 2019 Good morning from a quiet (apart from le coq) part of France. Apparently we are heading to look at some monkeys while Beth goes out to lunch. When we get back Ryan has been promised that he can have a play with the train set. Sounds OK to me. RMweb Gold Popular Post Stubby47 Posted August 23, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted August 23, 2019 Today is my last in my current role (Test Engineer). I officially start my new role on 1st Sept, but am also on A/L from 5pm today until 9th Sept . New role's title is probably the longest in the company: Systems Integration and Data Migration Test Engineer. Basically, old role was testing software changes, new role is migrating new customer's data into our system. There are some 50+ new customers, at the rate of 1 migration per week. Plus we are also accumulating European customers who will need the same service. Should be fun. Meanwhile, Hayle show this weekend, which could be warm if I'm sited in the Day Centre conservatory, with 24° forecast. 16

RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted August 23, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted August 23, 2019 Good morning all, The sun is shining and a fine day is promised,. Mark has delivered his mini digger so it looks like G-Day will definitely be happening tomorrow. Nicki, Joe and Gemma visited yesterday afternoon. They've been in Spain for the past 12 days and had a great time. We look very pale beside them! A couple more hours spent in the shed and the flap is now fitted but the final board doesn't! Adjustments will be made today. Before that however I will be "assisting" with some domestic tasks and then shopping. It appears that Sainsbury's are doing a wine offer at the moment so I know where I will be heading. Have a good one, V. Inrouge 19 1

RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted August 23, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 23, 2019 Good morning everyone The sun is shining and the sky is blue with a few white clouds dotted about. As it’s Friday that means there will be a visit to the Trafford Centre, this morning I will not be alone, so we will no doubt be out a lot longer than if I do the trip on my own. I’m now glad I pre-ordered the pies and a pastie the other day! There are no plans for the afternoon, so probably (hopefully) I’ll get to put my feet up for an hour or so before the arrival of James and Amelia for tea, which tonight is steak and ale pie with chips. Enjoy the sunshine if you have it, back later. 17
