The future of Warren Lane

As this thread approaches 250,000 hits it seems like a good time to share our plans for Warren lane

Over the last few weeks Maggie and I have discussed the future and have come to the conclusion that we haven’t room for another large layout.

Warren Lane is kept in our neighbour’s garage and only comes out for exhibitions.

Our neighbour is approaching 90 and is in poor health so the future housing of Warren lane or any future layout is in doubt.

With this in Mind we have shelved plans for Warren lane 2 and 2015 will be the current Warren lanes last year on the Exhibition circuit ….

But what a final year its going to be.

Not a bad way to say goodbye

Why Cockney Rebel

Well To make it a special year we are taking  the layout back to the 90’s

Gone are the Freightliner 70’s 66’s to be replaced with Rfd  47’s and 37’s

We will be running 4 pairs of 37’s from Stratford’s 1989 LNRA pool working, plus the occasional 47

If nothing else it will be a noisy send off.

So make sure you come and say Hello

Its a shame that all good things come to an end but certainly is a good way for it to bow out with those shows.

We will be at Allly Pally and Warley next year with layouts, so look forward to seeing the layout again at those shows if we dont make the others.

This is probably one of the only layouts on my bucket list that I have not managed to see yet. However DEMU & Warley are shows I regularly visit so I'm very much hoping to catch it before retirement!

Really looking forward to seeing some Rfd 37's!

All the best

Ive gone all "Diesels in the Duchy" :blum:

well sort of I'm in the process of repainting 3  37's into St Blazey Engines to work on Oldshaw.

The Current Oldshaw 37's all stratford engines will have new 00 chassis and go back onto Warren Lane to replace the Freightliner stock

post-9211-0-22826400-1417873706_thumb.jpg

37672 is nearly finished and 673/674 are not to far behind.

"Time for that extra fiddle yard for Oldshaw then!"

That is the plan... I can just see 37672 trundling through Oldshaw with a nice rake of Clay hoods

Past the buddlia Bushes :D
