Beresford Junction
I'm thinking I need to crack on and put some of the rolling stock away, as there is no room to move at the moment. I have quite a few scenarios - Freight EWS - Grids and various wagons / LoadHaul - need some locos - Freightliner '57 and '70 with intermodals - RES / Intercity passenger (need some locos for this though) I've also got some sectorisation '56s, although not much to run with them. Above will become the container yard, and I've just bought a Walters MI-JACK kit to build - yes I know it's HO, but no-one will notice I'm sure. Removed a/c
I'll vote for some Intercity service Phil. I just picked up a cracking class 47 by ViTrains in Intercity livery for £52 from Hattons. It is a cracker!! Removed a/c
Hi Phil, It is DCC ready but a quick look at the site and it appears they have now sold out. Perhaps this may fit the bill when it is released, not a bad price either. http://www.ehattons.com/32721/Bachmann_UK_32_385_Class_37_4_diesel_37415_in_Intercity_Mainline_livery_/StockDetail.aspx I will keep my eyes peeled though to see if the ViTrains comes back in to stock and let you know. ess1uk
a bit like me, more stock than track to store it on!
Beresford Junction
The moving of stock has started - leaving the current view of Freightliner / Intermodal (OK apart from the Grids you can see in the background). I've also started to build the crane - looking good so far, apart from the hideous orange colour of the plastic... I still need to add the operators cab and the engine gear plus some more ladders. Rammy
The Crane kit looks good mate. Where did you get it? I see what you mean about the "hideous orange". That's gonna take some weathering to tone it down a bit. lol Dave
Beresford Junction
The Crane kit looks good mate. Where did you get it? It's a Walthers HO kit I bought mine from Osborns Models - http://www.osbornsmo...t-ho-6797-p.asp I see what you mean about the "hideous orange". That's gonna take some weathering to tone it down a bit. lol I'm sure after some Halfords boy racer canary yellow, and a bit of dirt it will be a lot better. A few more bit have been glued on tonight. Phil
Beresford Junction
Progress on the MI-JACK crane - completed building the kit (in it's full orange glory) then put a first coat of primer on... Looking a lot better I think. Phil
Mark 37
The crane is looking real nice now even with just the primer. I see you use Halfords primer, how much is that now £6.99, £7.99 a can? I've just picked up a can of this stuff to try http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290469083152?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649 a fiver inc postage. Beresford Junction
No hidden agendas this time about new layouts - I just wandered down to the station and found Tornado there. Didn't have my real camera so only a phone shot. Cheers Phil PS Planning permission for any further layouts has been refused, so I'll just have to finish this one!
Beresford Junction
As discussed previously, here's the plan for a more interesting running schedule across many eras... 1. Freightliner current - with the newly less orange crane and a tarmac area for containers: 2. EWS - might also include my LoadHaud stock in this. 3. Secorisation - have the locos, just need some appropriate stock. All it needs is a quick change of stock / accessories and hey presto. Thoughts? Chris56057
I feel it is always worthwhile to have a variety of stock, so that you can operate in different transitions and era's. On the other hand, focusing on one time frame can also have its advantages. Great layout, particularly like the container crane you are using. Beresford Junction
On the crane theme, David from Wexford MRC Ireland (bluefreddie) sent me these photos with the same crane but with some LED's fitted. He's given me his permission to post them, and I think you'll agree they look great. Thanks Phil
Rammy
The crane looks awesome in Freightliner colours. Will you be doing yours the same? I can see I am going to have to buy one now you have shown me those photos, but I have no idea where it will go. Maybe an extension to First Avenue? lol Dave

I think it would be a great addition to First Ave, or perhaps it could go in Second Ave. Phil

Beresford Junction
Evening all - after a long break due to work, I managed a couple of hours down at the Junction. Managed to grab a couple of videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYPnaVo_Vho http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4A2yVirt3E Also bought some Bachmann MEA to add to the fleet with some advance Christmas money, pity they'll have to be wrapped up ready for under the tree. Enjoy Phil
Arpleymodeller
Hello Phil Its been a while since I last looked whats going on at Beresford Junction. Good use of space with the Freightliner terminal and virtual quarry loading sidings B) . Nice videos too, what camera/video recorder do you use? I was thinking of making some videos for Dallam but my Kodak camera has no video recording capabilities. Beresford Junction
Hi Lewis Thanks for the comments. The cameta is just a cheap (sub £100) point and click, but actually quite good - Nikon Coolpix.S3000. I've found a webcam in my box of spare PC bits and when I get a moment plan to hook it up - I've seen this at a few exhibitions and seems a cool idea.
