Chris Nevard
I gather Chesterfield has some rather good pubs that will need to be ticked off. Sunday, some of the exhibitors may be a little quiet first thing. Back on thread, I see that Mr Jones has been updating the Facebook page with locos at they arrive http://www.facebook.com/modelrail

We're at the end of the D*lt*c shed next to the roller doors. Come and say hello. Cheers, Mick
RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted September 17, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 17, 2011 Take your sea sickness pills for the traders tent at the rear of the roundhouse. RMweb Gold Revolution Ben Posted September 17, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 17, 2011 Hello all, A fun day at Model Rail Live today; thanks to all those who stopped to say hello. Highlights for me: 1:1 scale Deltic opposite, and the superb Warren Lane next door. Oh, and a surprisingly trouble free day's running on our own layout, Horseley Fields, on its big show debut! cheers Ben A.

Chris Nevard
Thanks to everyone who popped by BQ and all the folk I chatted to. Mr Leigh looked a little worried when I handed him the controller and 3 link coupling hook. Sorry if my "10 mins" became 90 minutes! After a few falser statrs I finally managed to perfect the art of chain and capstan shunting on an off the wagon turntable, proving the sceptics wrong - Fnarr fnarr! Day 2 beckons now, but maybe a little jaded after an impromptue tour of Chesterfield's beering hotspots with some of the Barrow Hill crew! Tea and a fryup now methinks! RMweb Gold Revolution Ben Posted September 18, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 18, 2011 Hi David, No probs - will put them in the Horseley Fields thread, rather than hi-jack this one! http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/30801-horseley-fields-n-gauge-layout-was-dibben-junction/page__st__25 cheers Ben

RMweb Premium newbryford Posted September 18, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 18, 2011 Had a great time at Model Rail live, was nice to meet RBE, Chris Nevard and New Bryford who had very inspirational layouts. Richard Thanks for the compliment. On behalf of the New Bryford crew, thank you very much to Ben and the Model Rail Live team for such an enjoyable event. We're already looking forward to MRL2012, be that as an exhibitor or spectator depending on whether Ben wants us back again with an exhibit. Thanks also to Bedlam George and Co, Cav and Mrs Cav for the social on Saturday night. Cheers, Mick
RBE
Cheers Richard was good to chat small layouts with you. I will follow your thread with interest and see how you finally get around some of the problems you discussed. Was a pleasure to socialise with the New Bryford crew on Saturday as always Mick, the curry house was a very happy coincidence that me and the missus (Jody btw) happened to turn up, shame you couldnt try the curries they were superb. A very good night in all. As for MRL2011, good all round show in all with great layouts and attractions all around. I too would like to thank all the Model Rail staff for letting Outon Road be part of the show. Roll on 2012. Cav

We hope it proved to be a good day out for everyone and that, if you were unlucky enough to catch one of the downpours, you didn't get too wet! Chris Nevard
Fabulous weekend, and refreshingly different to the usual all indoor show. Nice to see so many RM webbers pop by to day hello! Thanks for posting the pic 4630 - the chain shunting got better as the weekend progressed, and was probably the most popular move with the audience! Below; PMP's rather nice Pannier tank made a visit during the final hour of the show on Sunday pm. And here's the BLOG post for those that missed it first time round.... http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blog/206/entry-7559-thanks/
Kickstart
Hi We went on Saturday and had a good time. Seemed bigger (and better) than last year. The chain shunting was novel. Although having a train of just three coaches being double headed by Tornado and Mayflower, along with a banking engine at the back was possibly even more novel . All the best Keith
trains12
Hi All Arrived back home with the layout Dartmouth for Kingswear at 11.00pm Sunday night after a very enjoyable, and from the layout point of view, succesful weekend. Must congratulate Michelle, Chris and Ben and all the rest of the Model Rail team and the staff of Barrow Hill for a really great show, far better than last years, the only disapointment over the weekend was the rain, and boy did it rain at times. Anyway we were in the pullman shed so it didn't affect us so we thoroughly enjoyed the company of the other layout operators. So, once again, from Paul and myself a very big thank you. Grovel.... Ben and Chris - will have 2 more layouts for next year- hint hint. Attached a few shots of the layout.
Andrew P
Thanks to all the Model Rail Live team and especially to Michelle and her team for a great weekend from the Deesdale Road boys, Simon R, George T, Peter BB and Myself. We had a minor disaster just before the show closed on Sunday night but luckily The Deltic teams breakdown crane was on hand.
