RMweb Premium Tim Dubya Posted November 14, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 14, 2013 It's clearly not a cheap book. Didn't he do a four volume edition? I bought Volume 4 from Book Law for a tenner earlier this year. I've not come across a copy, but one day my search may not be in vein The best bit from their ebay ad is: "About Book2Basics : Our company is dedicated to providing you with the best quality, lowest cost products on eBay".
Il Grifone
These are rather attractive, but are basically repaints even if the finish is 'printed'. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360781367166?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Someone has gone to all the trouble of fretting out the webs of the brake gear, so I suppose around £20 each is not all that expensive, but....... The Bigbee Line
Agreed. There's been cases of folk bidding stupid money for, inter alia, a photograph of the latest must-have gaming consoles Its relisted, with comment 'no loco'

Il Grifone
I trust this rather OTT bidding is not from people, who think they are getting a rare original! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-DUBLO-OO-GAUGE-3-RAIL-TYPE-EDL7-LNER-CLASS-N2-0-6-2-SOUTHERN-2594-195-/151158541704?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item2331c04d88 It's not a bad repaint (apart from the skewed transfers - the originals aren't immune from this), but the seller is correct in saying "believed to be a repaint". (The genuine article should have 'Hornby' in an arc on the smokebox door and large cab windows - this is the BR version EDL17. The chassis should have green wheels, the earlier couplings and a horseshoe magnet.) Also she doesn't work! (I've no complaint with the seller, who listed at a perfectly reasonable £4.99 + £3.60.) She sold for £123.98! (perhaps I should get the paintbrush and SR olive paint out!?)
RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted November 14, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 14, 2013 Can anyone suggest why this is listed under Dapol wagons? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-ton-stainless-steel-hopper-/200987986809?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item2ecbd14b79

Il Grifone
Gostude not exaggerating for once, at least pricewise. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ks-KIT-BUILT-GW-GWR-0-4-2-CLASS-14XX-TANK-LOCO-1456-NICE-mx-/331064086546?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item4d14f51012 However, I would beg to differ with this statement "painted to a good standard". Il Grifone
Did the builder of this take 'Caledonian Blue' too literally? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ks-GEM-WILLS-KIT-BUILT-NE-LNER-WHITE-METAL-BRAKE-VAN-WAGON-my-/360791806986?hash=item5400de140a Not knowing what it is didn't stop Gostude starting it at £10 (it's a K's Caledonian brake van). Not sure about that Rob, I think he was a bit "Frustrated & Hot under the Collar" at the time, I don't think it was the layout thread that was causing that either............. Actually I think it would go very nicely on the back end of a train of similarly coloured Insulfish wagons - with a Caley blue liveried K3 up front!
