EBay madness

It's clearly not a cheap book.  Didn't he do a four volume edition?  I bought Volume 4 from Book Law for a tenner earlier this year.

I've not come across a copy, but one day my search may not be in vein :banghead:

The best bit from their ebay ad is:

"About Book2Basics :

Our company is dedicated to providing you with the best quality, lowest cost products on eBay".

These are rather attractive, but are basically repaints even if the finish is 'printed'.

Someone has gone to all the trouble of fretting out the webs of the brake gear, so I suppose around £20 each is not all that expensive, but.......

And we thought Gostude and Cartmel were expensive!  :O :o :O :o :O

I trust this rather OTT bidding is not from people, who think they are getting a rare original!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-DUBLO-OO-GAUGE-3-RAIL-TYPE-EDL7-LNER-CLASS-N2-0-6-2-SOUTHERN-2594-195-/151158541704?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item2331c04d88

It's not a bad repaint (apart from the skewed transfers - the originals aren't immune from this), but the seller is correct in saying "believed to be a repaint".

(The genuine article should have 'Hornby' in an arc on the smokebox door and large cab windows - this is the BR version EDL17. The chassis should have green wheels, the earlier couplings and a horseshoe magnet.)

Also she doesn't work!

(I've no complaint with the seller, who listed at a perfectly reasonable £4.99 + £3.60.)

She sold for £123.98!  (perhaps I should get the paintbrush  and SR olive paint out!?)  :O :jester:

Gostude not exaggerating for once, at least pricewise.

However, I would beg to differ with this statement  "painted to a good standard".

The Shelvington thread has been deleted, you utter bunch of cowards! Is this what you don't want people to see? RMWeb IS the corrupt domain of Andy York and his cronies manipulating where you should spend your money! Answer the damn question why you will allow selective advertising for your mates? Backhanders?

You should have checked & edited the thumbnail before you attached it, I don't think you realised what other pages are showing on your browser headers !!!!!!!!

Did the builder of this take 'Caledonian Blue' too literally?

Not knowing what it is didn't stop Gostude starting it at £10 (it's a K's Caledonian brake van).

Not sure about that Rob, I think he was a bit "Frustrated & Hot under the Collar"  at the time, I don't think it was the layout thread that was causing that either.............

Actually I think it would go very nicely on the back end of a train of similarly coloured Insulfish wagons - with a Caley blue liveried K3 up front!

I've seen pictures of miners wearing a hard hat, boots and not much else so these are positively overdressed!

Nor did it stop 'Gostude' listing it under 'Hornby Wagons'!
