Oh dear - I'm sure the intention was good - but what an absolute mess has been made of this one!!!

Guess who...

Bachmann 31-103 KIT BUILT BR 4-6-0 STANDARD CLASS 4 LOCO 72020 WEATHERED MIB my

This locomotive has had and has been professionally heavily weathered. Some extra detailing parts have been added.

Couplings have been replaced by scale hook and chain types.

There is a reciept from Bachmann dated 2000 for a later model replacement chassis that has been fitted.

Comes in a good box without instructions and with some modela railroading leaflets pertaining to the loco.

See pictures for details.

;)

Another Gosturd "classic". There must be a storage unit in Wolverhampton crammed full of the stuff he can't sell!

The frightening thing is that if he sold his stock in Australia only, his prices would be considered normal over there. Aussies tend to have more money than us or, at least, are less tight-fisted....

Perfect, I've been after that "left by the seaside to rust while a giant seagull the size of a pterodactyl carps on it" look for ages.

We've all shaken our heads at the "Job-lot of Tri-ang coaches" or similar, full of models that were iffy at the time, and now have no place except for collectors.

But how about this, with 30 - yes - coaches, all fine contemporary Chinese-made models of an exact prototype.

And, on reading the T&Cs he wants every buyer in the UK to pay by cheque therefore making more profit for himself, hope PayPal are looking....

I reported this practice to eBay months ago. eBay didn't give a flying **** then, so I don't think they'll give a flying **** now.

Now there's an episode of 'Storage Hunters - UK' (on Dave channel) that I'd like to see!

I'm wondering how anything professionally (or otherwise) weathered/ bugmessed up can be described as 'Mint in Box' ?????? (Or does "MIB" mean 'Messed up in Box' in this case?)

I bet if I tried selling some of the crap gosturd sells, eBay would be down on me like a ton of bricks, how can such regular miss disciptions go un delt with by eBay !!

If he succeeds in selling goods and the buyer reports him for 'not as described' and he promptly refunds the money on return of the goods then re-lists it, EBay will be satisfied. They are perfectly aware that buyers are eccentric and frequently wrong but if the seller bites the bullet and moves on that, as they say, is the end of that.

It's 'cos the Mint in the Box melted during a spell of hot weather.

Probably the worst example from the Mary Shelley school of Railway Modelling seen so far!!

  • A Britannia loco body
  • A King Arthur tender
  • Peppercorn A1 smoke deflectors
  • Streamlined Bulleid Pacific Golden Arrow badge
  • 2 Swindon chimney tops

And a partridge in a pear tree!!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-00-GAUGE-BRITAINNIA-CLASS-70014-MODIFIED-LOCOMOTIVE-RENAMED-TORNADO/231598139234?_trksid=p5411.c100167.m2940&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140131123730%26meid%3Db2caa3b837264c7ca76da3e1b9dfbcdb%26pid%3D100167%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D9%26sd%3D261930006859

Surely the kindest thing to do would be to just push it into a turntable pit and to then fill it in

That said I don't know how it would move under its own power as there is nothing connecting the cylinders to the driving wheels!!

That's giving me ideas. When I've worked my way through my collection of unbuilt kits and other bits and pieces I've collected over the years, and produced what I want from it, whatever is left can be turned into something I can flog on eBay. I hate waste, and love being creative!!!
