EBay madness

I wouldn't want it because it's not a hard-to-find Code 3 version :sarcastichand:

But it is just that! ("Code 3" means "got at" or "molested") I reckon the Romford wheels are probably worth more than the rest of it.

Incidently there appears to be a spate of 'weathered' (usually badly) Bachmann wagons at well over the new price! :O

He obviously doesn't want the hassle of sending abroad. The two items I've sent abroad were both a pain. One was paid by e-cheque and took a month to clear and the other I received negative feedback for 'item damaged', despite stating clearly 'damaged' in the listing and only getting around £5 for it (a Lima Italian diesel).

This seems a tad expensive http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OO-4mm-HO-USA-UK-Bachmann-Ezmate-coupling-set-x1-pack-B2c-/230781066103?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item35bb9f9b77

I paid 60p new for the last ones I bought a few years ago. I know the pound has devalued in the meantime, but....

It is a shame that the few wreck it for the many. I have had 140 eBay transactions (and as many non eBay transactions) all from different countries and have not ever had one issue of a lost or damaged parcel.

Have I just jinxed myself :jester: :prankster:

Apart from the unrealistic price and unrealistic grafitti it is not a bad representation of a scrap loco. Though I don't unerstand how the wheel quartering would go so out of sync on the real thing. Surely all the wheels would move in unison when the locomotive is moved without coupling rods.

Only if all wheels are of identical circumference will they stay in line.

If one wheel is a thousanth of a mm different then after 1000 rotations it will be 1mm out after 10,000 rotations it will be 1cm out and after 100,000 rotations it will be 10 cm out

The wheels on the locos if moved without coupling rods will get out of synch.

I dont know how different the wheels became in use but with wear according to weight distribution I would not be surprised at up to a cm in circumference difference

Same with car tyres your speedo will in a mechanical system read differently according to wear

More likely being shunted around sharp curves that does it - the cone angle on the wheels only works on moderate curvature, so on tight curves one wheel on each axle will be forced to slip on the rail. If on one axle the left wheel slips and on the other the right wheel slips, it will only take a couple of shunts before all the wheels are completely out of sync.
