I think the underframes, pickups and the couplings are probably the only Hornby Dublo bits.......and why would he think that a 3-rail loco -suitable only for very large radii - might sell for £175 after all these years ? Rare it certainly is

Fifty years ago, I would have thought the obvious course for a Garrett, would have been the Kitmaster kit. Certainly an ingenious use for old junk, but £175? No way :nono: :O

This has been for sale for about 2 years. I remember seeing it when I was just starting out. It must have cost him the sale price in listing fees by now! I got all of my Minitrix 27s for between £25 and £30, with boxes.

I purchased one a while back that was in mint condition, box too was like brand new for just under 20 quid, but for what he's asking is just taking the p*ss!

Can't blame the seller here. Must admit I'd forgotten about this which IIRC is actually factory finished like this and thus *professionally* weathered?

Identity crisis. Can't work out if it's a 25 or a 31. Go on, gimme a clue.

OK here's a clue - there's a number on the side that starts 31. Then again there's a number on top that starts 7D so maybe it's an old LNER/GC diesal (his spelling not mine).

And that's another thing that really annoys me. Not only do the educashun factories turn out uneducated dummies but they can't be bovvered to use spell checkers that come wiv the technology they're using.

Edit for (my own, not his) typos

The "Please Look" in the item description rings of desperation. And when will these people learn what 'rare' means? A limited edition is 'rare', something that has been bodged is not.

Toad is the right description (not the brake van!)

Considering they didn't sell out of wagons during the last two shows, why would anybody want to pay that price?

Keith, Is it a see thru box??

It says "never been out of the box"

Cannot understand where the certificate is though if it is still in the box!!

If certificate is not in box I would question the provenance

When you buy them at Warley you get a pristine tissue-wrapped box with a wagon in it and a seperate certificate is handed to you.

Same with the limited edition wagon from the Midland Railway Society stand.

Both are sitting close to this computer with the certificates on top!
