I don't find the scene particularly attractive but it's convincing. The viewpoint is just right for the forced perspective of the terraced houses. But what a pity the photographer caught the top of the backscene (top right hand corner of the photo). Destroys the illusion completely. Wickham Green too
..... but there's something very odd about that grey building and its security compound absolutely square on to the camera.
RMweb Premium Ian Morgan Posted June 1, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 1, 2023 Yes, it is a cardboard cutout. The other warehouse is obviously on the backscene, with a picture of a lorry cut out from a magazine and unconvincingly just stuck on.
RMweb Gold Dagworth Posted June 1, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 1, 2023 (edited) The Peco bullhead track looks great, the weathering is excellent. The points closest to the front of the layout look like P4 but the plain track that the 47 is on and the line in front of it are clearly OO Andi Edited June 1, 2023 by Dagworth
RMweb Premium keefer Posted June 1, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 1, 2023 (edited) nice looking loco though maybe a bit of weathering will tone down those clunky overscale-looking bogie sides Edited June 1, 2023 by keefer

Oh come on, who’s not been so excited with their latest purchase that it’s been taken straight out the box and onto the layout for a little play about within the first 5 minutes? 😜 3 2

Well that really is very good, completely fooled me for a moment there, especially the forced perspective half-relief buildings between the station and the backscene. Then I realised that if I was looking at the actual model all the traffic on the Tyne bridge would be stationary.

Popular Post Jack374
I must hand it to the modeller - the weathering on the forthcoming Rails of Sheffield exclusive 'Syphon' is sublime. However, they need to sort out the lighting rig, and I feel the static grass is a bit too widespread. 😁 Thanks, Jack.
