I may have missed it, if so ignore me but what kind of lighting will be used this time? Are you going for a set of lights straight down the back scene to avoid any shadows on it etc?

Are you going to keep all mains electricity off the wooden bits or what?

Nice work, everyone, really.

Best, Pete.

Lovely work Stu. Where would we be without Microstrip......

The Capri poster dates the layout to 1978 to 1986 as it's a mk3, is that within the correct time period?

Ah, if those are the dates then it is too late - I believe it's the autumn of 1975, so the poster can be used if the stock is moved on a few years.

I'm still looking for useable ideas, folks...

This was always my favourite Ford advert. Although I am too young to remember it, I've been a fan of Mk1 Escorts for ever. Shame it's a 1973 ad (M reg)

If I remember correctly, the bloke in the photo was quite high up in AVO (Advanced Vehicle Operations) at Ford.

And another thought about the pub's name. If it's a real dive how about calling it "The Fiddle" - that's a vile inn.

Jeez, I always think of the song, "Love is like a vile Inn"!

It would need to be a Mk 2 as they appeared in Jan 75, although I haven't looked up when the Mexico came out. I was always embarrassed when I saw Mexicos, as their drivers used to flash me thinking I had one, when it was actually a 1600 Sport with spoilers!!

Thanks gents !

I like the Mini advert -" sex has never been a problem for us".

I've also found a Marina advert, so cars of some sort will be featured.

Never having been a smoker, I'll take your advice on what was available when.

Chris, apart from the three billboards, would any of the other buildings have adverts on boards ?

Wasn't this in response to a High Court Judge to said that sex was impossible in the back of a Mini? Did this after 'examining' evidence and practical evidence.

Cosmopolitan did a sex-feasibility survey in a number of cars. I think the mini did ok - as proved by millions of determined youngsters, no doubt - but full congress in the Fiat 126 might only be possible by having one's feet out through the sunroof, they thought. You need to be young for that!

As for the Marina Coupe TC - Car & Car Conversions magazine tested one at, I think, Snetterton, and concluded that it looked about as composed at speed as a pregnant elephant on ballet shoes!
