Any chance of some photos of how they fit? I've got to do my Hudswell Clarke when I get round to fitting Dinghams.

No problem fitting Dinghams. You will need to dismantle the loco to get at the three link couplings. Unhooking the spring from the moulded pin allows them to be pulled out of the slot. It's a simple matter to glue a Dingham into the slot - although you will need to shorten its shank to get it to fit.

Would it have an aerial? We are talking of a period when a heater was an optional extra on most cars, after all!

Ermm.....errr......dunno. (I presume it was for talking to base, not listening to the Light Programme.)

I could ask the man who sold it to me, on the Radley Models stand, who is pretty knowledgeable on London transport (with both a capital and a lower case T).

If you put FX4 into Google you will find a lot of taxi images, I can't find one with an aerial.

I think it was the time of cab stands and shelters where the cabbies spent all day drinking tea :mosking:  and taxis were hailed in the street or 'phoned for.

Not much evidence of radio's on the dashboard.

My first car a 1955 Oxford must must of been top of the range then, it had a heater and valve radio. No instant sounds, it took 5 minutes to warm up.

The road over the bridge is going to get a bit congested....

Of course I will need a white-coated driver with a peaked cap. A seated railway man, with a change of livery, might well serve.

This "Bus Driver" from Modelu could make a pretty convincing Milkman I reckon.

Thanks Dan. Those figure models do look very good. They are available in 1:43.5 for £5, which looks a good price for such quality. My only reluctance is that the figure will only be glimpsed at some distance, in the cab - so such quality might be rather wasted.

Anyone got one of this range in 7mm? If you have would you care to comment on the quality?
