Hi Jack & Rich

Thanks for the comments.....

We took the pics on manual settings with the camera on a tripod with delayed shutter action....

Most took about 30 seconds to take....not counting setting up.....

Consequently as our backs/arms were knackered holding lights etc we didn't take many....

Cheers Bill

Hi All

Done a bit more over the last couple of days......

Fitted a fence around the Shippams building plus some grass along the bottom & some greenery between that building &  the coal merchants.....

post-7844-0-84168800-1377029389_thumb.jpg

Pleased with the fence....I had been wondering what to use for the mesh.....

Then inspiration.....I had a broken metal sieve...so I cut strips with a pair of sharp (not any more) scissors.....sprayed the strips with primer to give a galvanised effect & hey presto.....The posts are my usual match sticks.

The fence is about 25mm high...approx 6ft....

I also used more but not so high in the overgrown goods yard....

Made some seafoam trees & planted them to form a copse to partly hide the hole in the backscene......

post-7844-0-34320900-1377029781_thumb.jpg

Weathered & fitted my auto couplings to my Fertiliser vans.....

More magnets arrived today so I hope to fit some tomorrow so hands free shunting can take place....

post-7844-0-52740600-1377030294_thumb.jpg

Finally I put a retaining strip on the front edge of the traverser to avoid accidents....

While I was at it I split the nearest siding of the traverser  into 3 sections that will hold a 2car DMU in each section.

Hopefully I shall have time to lay another siding in the traverser for another split section siding......

Well thats all for today

Hi All

A quick update on progress....

Fitted the corner boards at each end

Also fitted Penhallick Junctions lighting pelmet to Creedyford......

The idea was always to use it but the hard bit was how to fix it.....

I couldnt use the existing bolt holes for two reasons....

1) Penhallick is about 100mm longer so the holes wouldnt match as well as meaning I would have to move  one of my show plaques to allow for a bolt hole to be drilled, &

2) the front of Creedyford is angled around so anyholes would have to be angled & thus harder to fit

The solution was to fix 40mm waste pipe connectors to the back of the pelmet & these just drop on to the uprights....

You can see from the second picture the hole for the bolt when used with Penhallick

A view from behind showing the general arrangement....

Looking good Bill.

Are you going to take some more photos at Hayle?

Sorry, I can't make it there myself at the weekend. Will be sending an invite to our show next year if you want to come up again ?

Hi Richard

Both my son & I should have our cameras with us over the weekend so we shall be posting pictures from better angles than possible whilst being set up at home...

I would certainly like to attend your show next year as it was a most enjoyable affair this year....

Also by then it will be finished except for the usual extra cameos etc

Cheers Bill

Hi Ralph

Good to meet you today.....

Those are some great photos you've taken....

The low level angle brings out the best I think...

Thanks for posting them....

It's a shame you've no space to build any thing....A microlayout maybe?

It's a shame that you've got to wait 'till you visit your nephew in Swindon before you can 'Play' TRAINS!!!!

Have you considered joining a club?

You live in the Redruth/Camborne connurbation so either Redruth or Hayle clubs would be close to you......Or there are others not too far away.....

If you want further info as regarding either PM me for info.

(I am not a member of either or any club)

Cheers Bill

What a great layout. Don't know how I missed it !! Went back and read over the whole thread and really enjoyed watching your progress. The farm is brilliant. Look forward to seeing more.

Regards

Scott

Hi Scott

Thanks for the comment.....

The layout is by no means finished.....Loads still more to do.....The scenics, buildings, signals,People, cameo scenes etc.....

I was a bit flattered when someone said to me in a surprised tone ....It's not finished..What else is there to do....????

Even SWMBO knows I shant be  at her beck & call yet for a day or two.....Well in my dreams!!!!!

Will keep posting progress

Thanks again

Cheers Bill

Nice Layout there Treggyman. love the buildings, very inspirational stuff. What did you use for those fence posts? I drilled holes in many match sticks and threaded fine beadingwire through ours a bit over scale but a pleasing result!

looking forward to seeing more.

Regards Shaun.

Hi All

Well a good day was had today......

Friendly hosts & positive audience.....

One lad with his dad spent ages watching, going away & coming back....Even though I didn't have a Black 5......Fortunately he requested a Class 31 & I was able to take one out of it's box to run it for him.

Well the layout ran well on it's first outing.....

No major problems.

A couple of the traverser tracks ended slightly out of line with use but a quick blast with the soldering iron has hopefully sorted that.

Oddly ,considering the traverser has had a full load of stock on it for a fortnight & prior to that the layout baseboards stacked on it while I've been wporking on Penhallick Junction it it has sagged in the middle & is a pain to'traverse'....Not a major problem & easily remedied....

Other than that.....One case of buffer locking.....(Will be sorted tomorrow)a couple of back to backs& coupling heights on Kadees......

Anyway a few pics

RSLR of this parish insisted he put some model ?cows/zerbras on the layout

Hi Bill,

As always mate another super layout! I quite liked the farm with the zebra cows and pigs :)
Very interesting to watch and look at, with lots of passing traction! The signal box looks spot on, just needs Mr Munday sitting back in his chair with the latest Dapol catalogue.
Here's a few pics I taken today
