My detailing/repainting projects

Recommended Posts

Hi Lee

I had the same problem with the decals on the Royal Scotsman 66 when I did the pair for a friend.

I added some PVA to the water in the waterslide water and it helped them adhere to the ribs better. I only did this on the second loco I did and it was certainly better than the first one I did.

Regards

John

I have been having issues with some old stock EWS transfers lifting from the flat sides of a model, I think because the glue has had it. I will give this a try and see if it solves it!

Thanks

Hi Ken. That's after half a days scrubbing!! The light is daylight balanced led. Can't remember where I sourced it from now, think I searched under salon or medical lamps?

Afternoon guys. Just a quick heads up for some excellent customer service from a custom transfer supplier.

Ordered a few custom numbersets yesterday afternoon....they arrived this morning!! Truly outstanding, we are all busy, but this sort of service is so refreshing when there are suppliers out there who don't even offer the courtesy of an email response to a query.

Hi Lee

I sent an email to John Peck asking whether He did any decals to re-number and letter my Hornby IC Swallow Mk3 coaches. An hour later, I had a reply requesting photos, sent the photos and then less than two hours later received an ordering link!! Decals arrived following day.

This is not the first time I have dealt with Precisionlabels and always had fantastic service.

Note with His GBRf 60095 set, there are even the sole bar decals included!

Best regards

John

Now I know I spend my days ensuring and altering roof boiler ports, bodyside steps, bufferbeams etc etc, but this customer just wanted his loco renumbered and weathered.

Yet another batch of Scottish class 37 headlamps! I reckon I have done in excess of 40 pairs this month alone. Very very popular.

Hi Lee you a punching out some great looking stock these day loving the 7mm stuff.

Can I ash how you wire in the LED lights on your class 37s. I have made up a light for 37262 that I am doing but haven't any idea how to wire it in.

Cheers Peter.

Hiya Peter, cheers as always. Hope these images are helpful. The first one shows the solder track that needs to be scraped away, I then connect the lamp negative feed, resistor if required depending on what kind of leds you are using. Posotive feed gets attached to the central point as per image 2.
