blueeighties
Well, everything has finally calmed down after the exhibition a couple of weeks ago, and today the little one went back to School. So back to some solid graft! No prizes for guessing what colour was in the airbrush today.... After a chat about all things photographic with Nigel Burkin, I decided it was time to improve things in the lighting department for when photographing work. These babies turned up today. Another nice project underway today is the improvement and detailing of a Heljan 0 gauge 26. The model as supplied is an unrefurbished version, so for starters the cab door windows need blanking and filling, as well as the tablet recesses. I made some basic infills with plasticard, filler will next be gradually built up until everything is completely smooth and good enough for re painting. She's also been fitted with sound, the speaker is mounted in the fuel tank. Sounds really good. This is a pair of Pullman driving trailers that had yellow ends. The customer wanted repainted blue, today I have added the white window surrounds. Gloss varnish and Pullman crests next.Whilst on with these I also 'white windowed' a pair of 26's that are getting done as the Scottish green pair, 001 and 007.
North Eastern
Hi Lee, Whats new on the work bench? Have you finished that 7mm Class 20, how about a video clip with the sound chip going full belt? Your photo's on your last post looked a bit small any chance of making them bigger? Regards Chris
blueeighties
Hi Lee, Whats new on the work bench? Have you finished that 7mm Class 20, how about a video clip with the sound chip going full belt? Your photo's on your last post looked a bit small any chance of making them bigger? Regards Chris In a word, busy mate! Funnily enough I weathered the 20 today, and bar a few tweaks, she's finished and I photographed her this morning. Regarding the small piccies, I put them onto my gallery on RMWEB, as a couple of people commented that they took ages to upload, (I have always used Flickr to host them). No idea why they were small. Anyways, back to Flickr, so hopefully normality is resumed.... Grabbed an hour today to photograph some stuff inbetween the workbench and knocking yet more of the old kitchen out.... This is the 0 gauge 20 I fitted sound to a couple of weeks ago, now weathered. 015 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 020 by rothburyuk, on Flickr I have added some of the characteristic almost white patchy faded paintwork to the nose ends, not that noticeable in the pictures. 021 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 040 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Another big beast, this is a Heljan 0 gauge duff in for sound fitting and lights. An attempt had been made by someone previously, but not the best effort. This is how the loco arrived, with a rather puny round speaker just dangling free in the chassis. 001 by rothburyuk, on Flickr My usual home made brew of Alan Butcher drivers and large(ish) plasticard enclosures. 006 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Much better job! This thing is damn loud! 009 by rothburyuk, on Flickr And here she is. Not my own work the repaint, but possibly going to be renumbered to 47642, subject to checking pics to make sure the body is the correct variant. 043 by rothburyuk, on Flickr

Will look pretty special once all the detailing bits are added and some weathering is applied. 015 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 017 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 019 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 021 by rothburyuk, on Flickr

blueeighties
Finally got around to doing a few short video clips of recently sound chipped projects. First up a Heljan O gauge class 20. This has been fitted with a Legoman chip and Alan Butcher speaker, with a custom made enclosure. Heljan O gauge 26. Same bits and pieces as the 20. And a 47. This time a pair of speakers, and a South West Digital chip. Edited September 13, 2014 by blueeighties

RMweb Premium richierich Posted September 16, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 16, 2014 (edited) The class 20 sounds fantastic, just like the DRS 20s occasionally seen / heard around York. To me it shows how DCC sound is better suited to large scales than 4mm. Edited September 16, 2014 by richierich

Cheers Rich, can't wait to start the big Deltic I have in the queue Some lovely tasty Shawplan bits Correct shaped 37 front window etches. These really make a huge difference to the loco when fitted. The lower parts are a pair of light lens panels for a Hornby 90 that have just been drilled for light fitting. 002 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Painted. 020 by rothburyuk, on Flickr This is the 90 that is getting lights fitted, repainted into DB Schenker livery. blueeighties
A gaggle of 24's...these were the batch that used to work the Consett ore trains and had the high level brake pipes. (still to be added to the cab fronts). a by rothburyuk, on Flickr
MrB
Lee, You'll notice the difference between the two class 56s, the front grill and the light clusters. The early 'Romanian built' and the later 'BREL' one. Just have to watch what you number them to. blueeighties
Schenker 90 is now complete, working lights fitted, and a quality nameplate 029 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 033 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Another local beast, 47401 North Eastern. Started life as 47035, has had new underframe tanks added, a high intensity (working ) headlight on both cab fronts, and the usual weathering and detailing. 035 by rothburyuk, on Flickr The pair of green 26's are starting to approach completion, the plates and miniscule plaques are works of art, but a ###### to cut file and fix. A few bits of paint touch up here and there, etched headcode discs and roof fans, varnishing and these will be ready to go. 017 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 020 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 020 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 027 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Edited September 25, 2014 by blueeighties
