My detailing/repainting projects

Recommended Posts

Well, he first day of decent sunshine of the Year. A bit of work this morning up until mid afternoon, photographing some finished work, and a walk with the dog. Nice!

Some of this weeks finished 7mm commissions.

I have recently taken in a huge pile of Heljan duffs, (drop me a pm if you are after one), yet this little lot got me more excited than the locos  :jester:

Fully reworked, repainted, weathered, sound and light fitted Heljan class 37. What a beast  :sungum:

I still have a few little weathering enhancements to add to finish off, bit of silvering to the footsteps, fuel tank staining, the edge of the nose end doors above the yellow nose to touch in, but the sun is out so I thought it a good time to photograph!

Loch Long looks great Lee what a job

My 37 is now run in and will be on its way to you next week

How did your JLTRT 37 go or are you too busy to get near it

all the best

Hi mate, thanks for that. Yes, it's good to be very busy, but the only flipside is absolutely no available time for personal projects. Maybe when I retire!!

Hi Lee.  Fantastic work.  In post 2231 there is a pic of a dismantled Heljan blue 37, together with a rather chunky looking speaker.  Can you tell me about the speaker, please.

Hiya, cheers. I discovered them via Legoman. They are absolute beasts!

More lovely BR blue...this time a quartet of reworked Heljan duffs. Lots of Shawplan bits, some with new boiler ports/plates. Only thing I haven't added for the pictures are the screw couplings as I still have to blacken them.

I do like my 56s. One of my favourites, 127, a grubby large logo GD machine. Fittred with Legomans latest, Shawplan detailing, and new better coloured lighting.

Another one of my GD favourites, 40057. Not happy with the coolant staining from the roof fan, I'll re-work that. Never really noticed before, but I think I will replace those rather chunky buffer heads too.

I have made a start on 27050. Missed some nose end alterations that need doing, so this will be a full strip and repaint.

Bogie spring mods.

47299. Recently took this in with a job lot of Heljan duffs. I presume it was undergoing conversion to another loco, as the cab cutaways has been filled in. I now need to reverse these mods, as as far as I know, 299 was the only 47 with the combo of cutaway cab bottom edges, and flush markers at both ends.
