C&WR
Michael's picture in #302 makes me wish I could finish off my conversion of 45143 and get it in front of the odds and sods I've been collecting to make up a parcels train. A bit of weathering might hide my dubious modelling, too!

C&WR
That is a lovely picture, Michael, many thanks. It's the kind of look I remember & am trying to replicate. There's another blue/grey BG in the mix now. A bit short, but my layout's little... Edited December 23, 2013 by C&WR

hmrspaul
Not a parcels train, but parcels stock - photographs of the BGs prepared for the Flying Scotsman tour of the USA in 1969 are at http://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/flyingscottrain Taken by Tony Dyer during his Mopok days, but I don't believe they did an LNER BG. Seasonal best wishes to everyone, and some lovely pictures on this thread, keep the links coming! Paul

RMweb Gold mudmagnet Posted January 4, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 4, 2014 I've been sorting through a few old photos - these being scanned from my prints, so the quality is not great. I think that these were taken in Plymouth early 80's, but can't recall the dates.

We used to look out for it at Snow Hill. By that time it was usually an Oxley Brush 4 turn but on Fridays the diesel worked the 17.50FO passenger and the parcels was steam hauled. cbeagleowner
Hope no one minds me resurreciting this thread. I was wondering after finding out that the particular train I wanted to model has a consist listed as 7 x BG's would they have all been BG's or could they havre been random parcels wagons such as GUV's / CCT's etc? Also I understand that parcels stock often traveled about the country from one region to another. How likely would Green Southern mk1 And GW chocolate and cream mk1 BG's have been in other places? Or we're there only a few of them which were kept in the area? Thanks for any help you can give :-)
