KNP
With internal lights blazing the railcar passes over the viaduct as the sun dips below the horizon. Weary travellers heading home after a busy day at work.... 8 1
KNP
Was not happy with the yellowish glow so took some more with the white balance tweaked to reduce it. 7
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted April 19, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 19, 2019 In old photographs lighting appears more yellow as this was the colour produced by incandescent lights. Our brains actually tricked us into believing that we were seeing white light. If you travel in an old carriage that still has incandescent lighting you will be surprised just how yellow it appears. 1
RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted April 19, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 19, 2019 I'd have been happy with the yellow glow for carriage lights. The real thing was so low level that reading lights were provided in compartment stock, very low wattage bulbs feebly casting light through frosted bulbs, at 24v IIRC. Modern carriage lighting is much brighter, and colder in cast, even through tinted windows, and one of the most common errors on exhibition layouts IMHO, even modern image ones, is lighting that is much too bright. 1
Porkscratching
I like the yellow version best!..that looked more real to me, as stated above much old lighting was very yellow...

Given the criticism elsewhere of tension lock couplers, these are an interesting treatment of the subject and I think, work very well 2 1

298
Cafés, the Diner is lit with cool white LED strip but the Coffee Shop uses warm white 3mm LEDs with a touch of Tamiya clear red to balance the light to the same colour as the filament bulbs in the globe streetlights outside. 10
