37114
Frank Wallers Road Transport Images range has a Bedford TM kit in both versions. He also does a Scania 80 in sleeper version but no 82/ 112/ 113 As yet. Frank regarded th Foden S80 as the ugliest thing he'd produced so far, and it took some doing to get that into the range, I suspect the Scanias will be an even bigger challenge. To my mind they have the looks only a swedish engineer could love. A 112 is an easy conversion from a 113 assuming it is not the streamline version, the low datum cab is a harder conversion so would best be served through RTi. RANGERS
There is a Skoda Estelle made by Abrex in 1/72 scale. If you can live with the slight over scale, the Abrex range is particularly good. As well as the Estelle, they do the 105 and the original Octavia from the 60s/ 70s/ 80s not to mention the full range from the 90s and beyond. Removed a/c
an 80s ice cream van and milk float would be good along with a livestock lorry.
Arun Sharma
Oxford commercials do a milk float - I think 2mm scale. Agenoria do a brass kit of a milkfloat in 7mm.
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted May 30, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 30, 2015 Oxford do a 3 wheel milk float of the type that was around from 1960-1990. Classix do a 4 wheel milk float thats suitable for the period 1950-1980. Electric milk floats lasted for a long time, a 50 year lifespan was and is not unusual. Batteries are easy to replace and motors require little maintenance beyond the replacement of brushes. A few years ago a local dairy had what appeared to be personal number plates on its milk floats where in fact they were the originals, the bodies had been rebuilt to a more modern appearance but it was still the old 30 to 40 year old chassis underneath. Removed a/c
What is available in milk floats is not what I recall from the 80s though.

Waverley47708
When they did the range of Bedford P Ways a few years ago I was sure they would do one of the short wheelbase versions, I kept hoping, but they never did the only one I wanted! The short wheelbase of the type in my post above were as far as I can recall the most common type. Would it be cheeky to ask for a ScotRail version? RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted July 1, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 1, 2015 I was wondering if the bodies from the P/W Bedfords would be a straight swap onto the Cargo?
Waverley47708
Got a polite email thanking me for my suggestions and advising me they will be added to the wish list for consideration. I remember that in the past you would get an email from Taff himself, sometimes with a bit of banter. I recall once he replied and either included a photo of something they were working on or he told me something about a proposal which had not been released! I guess as they have grown and no doubt have taken on additional staff, you tend to get a more corporate, safe and dare I say predictable response. Certainly better than Heljan who once replied to a query about new models with the advice to buy a catalogue.

Guest nzflyer
I wouldn’t mind having a Willys Jeep that isn’t kit built. They’d go great in a range of military patterns (Western Desert, Italy, Middle East, India, Pacific, Eastern Front, Home Forces, Europe 1944-1945) as well as civilian colours. I’m not sure what their use would be in a post-war England but here in New Zealand they were used as fire fighting vehicles, farm trucks and Follow Me vehicles at the larger airfields. RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted July 14, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 14, 2015 A friend of mine is producing laser cut building parts in card/MDF/wood for model railways on a commercial basis. I asked him at the weekend if he would consider making a livestock carrying bodywork to fit on to EFE, Oxford, Trackside and other model lorries. He was interested and asked me to find some illustrations of such vehicles. This I have done and the pleasant surprise was that many of these bodies were demountable, sitting on a flat bed lorry like a container. A one-size-fits-all looks a distinct possibility despite some slight variations in the different manufacturers dimensions, Oxford and Trackside are virtually the same EFE are slightly smaller. Would anyone be interested if it was produced on a commercial basis?
Arthur
I'd certainly take one, probably two, Phil. I'm quite keen on taking diecast lorries, swopping bodies, rebuilding them etc.
mikeharvey22
I would be up for a couple. Wood has to be the ideal medium for these bodies. Having just made up a laser cut wooden building kit I am delighted with the material and how it went together.
