RMweb Gold checkrail Posted November 10, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 10, 2023 The 1940s 'G <crest> W' lettering looks rather good on the small tender. How many Manor (or, for that matter, other) 3,500 gall. tenders carried that style, and how long did it last?

RMweb Gold Popular Post gwrrob Posted November 12, 2023 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted November 12, 2023 7819 has gained a Modelu crew and as the fall plate had come away on arrival I replaced it with this etched offering from Precision. Having a fireman slightly obscures the rather gimmicky firebox glow somewhat to a more pleasing effect.

Caerphilly was always my preference as I believe it spent some time at Wolverhampton and the larger tender should make for a better / easier speaker installation. I shan’t buy a decoder until it arrives though as there seems to be conflicting information about 8 or 21 pin depending on which website one looks at. Good morning Ian, I have no idea in answer to your question, but given the Castle model represents its condition as-built in 1922, surely there must have been GWR clerestories still running at the start of the Grouping? RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted November 13, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 13, 2023 Hey - I'm genuinely glad I asked! Lots of decent pics there, thanks, and as we all know cameras - in them thar days, less so today - really didn't lie. Tony's cornucopia is interesting, too - and I actually saw 60523! 5

Popular Post Tony Wright
My 'cornucopia' of things GWR/WR on Little Bytham seen earlier seemed to be popular. So, a few more............ The origins of many of these are lost in the mists of time, but it's been my privilege to have so many visitors bringing their models (of all types) to run on Little Bytham. I've even built some GWR types which have run on my depiction of the ECML (though they never appeared in reality, but it's my trainset!). Not on Little Bytham (I built this SEF 61XX before Bytham was started), but on Charwelton. I hope folks like the selection above. 34

I guess you mean the famous 1925 exchange trials? Flying Fox was slated to take part in the home runs on the LNER, and was used in the publicity photos, but she ran hot during the first run and was replaced. The loco that ran on the GWR was Victor Wild, driven by Albert Pibworth, "Old Pib". 4 1
