I thought it was C , I've also seen H but I'm open to more information from the learned types on here. Could it be dependant on whether it is loaded, or empty? I did read somewhere recently that they were rated more important when load, for animal welfare considerations. All the best TONY

RMweb Gold Popular Post gwrrob Posted June 9, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted June 9, 2020 Here we see Hall class 5998 Trevor Hall on a C class train of both GWR and SR cattle vans heading west. All the wagons have been weathered and I've dry-brushed them with extra frame dirt from Lifecolor ,added to the lower sides. Although the GWR van has been well documented as being wrong in some respects, I think it looks ok as a layout wagon. The two SR ones I have are first class Hornby. The wagons do come apart if some leftover straw is wanted to be modelled.

RMweb Gold Popular Post gwrrob Posted June 10, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted June 10, 2020 Although a lot of my stock is weathered professionally, I do on occasions like to add my touch to stuff, in this case the cattle wagons. The GWR grey version is dry-brushed with frame dirt on the lower sides and as the colour is similar to SR brown I used track dirt on the SR vans. Weathering also disguises the running number if you have more than one van but don't want to change the number. 26

Yes and when it's extremely hot in the loft where my spray-booth is, I'm weathering your stock in very little clothing and sweating gallons - worse conditions than if I was detained by the MiM and placed in the Iron Bulleid 2

Used superglue on a fine stitck to join it . Underframe is one piece but needed a lit of flash cleaning out. It sits straight and level and runs evenly. No problems.
